Looking back at it, this episode of Vandread was truly one of my favourite ones and also a very well-done one. It gave the series its first proper character development episode, focusing on Meia, who certainly didn’t endear herself much in the earlier episodes.

This episode showed a very human side of Meia and I can’t deny she remains my favourite Vandread girl until now. Truth be told, it’s thanks to her and Naru Narusegawa that I really planted my roots of interest towards the seiyuu side of things, back then when I was still a fledging fan of the medium, hehe.

Also, this episode gave me my first exposure to the wonderful eponymous insert song of this episode. Donna Burke’s cover version still remains one of my favourites of this evergreen song.

Sigh, looks like the loss of 92JeyRfcya, YS2YSUOe1cLtf, and YnXmHqtxqS are really gonna hit us raw watchers hard. T.T This week’s raw looked more like a cam rip than a real encode orz.

Nevertheless still an awesome episode of Frontier. Sheryl certainly gained a lot more brownie points for me this episode.

Oh man, the first episode of Vandread always manages to make me laugh. The timing and quality of the jokes are really awesome.

Duero’s “I’m a doctor. *evilgrin*” is just god damn funny. Just realized he was one of Tomokazu Sugita’s earlier roles, heh.

And B.C. Oh B.C. I really… oh well, can’t change the fact already.

Aii~ instead of Kiddy Grade II, Gonzo could’ve considered a sequel to Vandread. But then and again, they’ve really degraded a lot since their days doing Vandread. I still remember the time where Gonzo was given near KyoAni-levels respect as a studio, heh.

Kamen no Meido Guy 02

Universal Serial Bus. Literally.

Shit, Kamen no Meido Guy keeps getting more and more awesomer by the episode. Kogarashi literally redefined the “Universal” in “USB”. I wanna learn how to connect my brain directly to my printer too! Or better, my PC.

Gotta love the running gag of “boob size is inversely proportionate to math scores” in the episode. But Naeka’s boobs are scary. I’ve heard of “back-breaking cleavage” but “steel-breastplate-breaking cleavage” is god damned over the top. Seriously. No wonder the Men’s Kendo Club are offering such princely sums for it.

Explosive decompression boobs.

Jamie and Adam should really investigate this.

Macross 7 is trash.

How the fuck people actually like this show? I got brain damaged just by watching the first 3 episodes.

Right, now I know why Nekki Basara is legendary. This show is legendarily stupid. Might’ve been better if the songs were actually good, but they just sound so god damn generic.

If I see Basara appear in Frontier……..OTL.

“Let’s go, Watson!”

Otome episode this week, since it was Yume’s turn last week.

Nothing much happens really, just Yoshiyuki and Otome going around town to investigate the series of mysterious accidents that seem to have no explainable cause. Along the way they interview Junichi, who talks about the Da Capo cast a bit and talk to Anzu who tells the story of a girl that wished for better memory and had it granted, to which Yoshiyuki suspects it’s herself she’s talking about.

Poor Yume gets totally forgotten the whole episode, late lunch and late dinner for her :3.

Forcefully stripping your master at the first meeting?
Waking her up by putting a hose inside her boobs and turning the water on?
Actually knowing your master’s exact weight gain JUST by looking?

Meido Guy Kogarashi is fucking awesome. Way fucking awesome. This is the best meido anime in years. Yes, years I say!

Don’t worry, there is a real meido in the form of Fubuki as well. I love how she disciplines Kogarashi using that baseball bat. Even more awesome is how versatile her seiyuu, Megumi Toyoguchi’s, voice is. I can’t recognise any hints of her other roles(Revy, Kirino) in her Fubuki at all.

Bokusatsu Meido Fubuki-san.

I wonder, will Naeka die from assassins first or from stress caused by Kogarashi first?

P.S. Jason’s take on Maid Guy 01 is bloody awesome.

Kanokon 06

Whee~ back to the usual aggresive Chizuru this episode.

It’s New Year’s over there and Kouta’s just chillaxin’ alone at home when as usual, Chizuru barges in and stays the day with him, making him food and playing Chizuru’s special sugoroku. Happiness doesn’t last long of course, as Nozumu barges in as well, so Kouta decides to take all three of them out for hatsumoude where they bump in to the others as well, causing Chizuru to complain about “disturbances”. Yeap, just another normal day in the Kanokon-verse. Asahina was just so cute when she got drunk by drinking amazake, at least Tayura got himself a nice memory.
