Puella Magi Madoka Magica 11 broadcast cancelled

Official site news just updated with the announcement that CBC, TBS and MBS cancelling this week’s Madoka Magica broadcast.

Since these three are the only stations airing it, that means there won’t be Madoka 11 this week. No idea on the new broadcast date yet, but don’t keep your fingers crossed for this week.

EDIT: Nico-Nico and AnimeOne will be airing episode 10 as scheduled. (Twitter)

Fractale Production Committee Halts N.A. Simulcast

The North American anime distributor Funimation has informed ANN that the Fractale Production Committee — the Japanese copyright holders of the Fractale television anime series — has forced the company to halt its simulcast of Fractale after only one episode. According to Funimation representatives, the committee requested that Funimation eliminates unauthorized videos of the anime on the Internet — including streaming sites, file-sharing networks, and file servers — before its simulcast will be allowed to continue. As a result, there will not be a simulcast of the second Fractale episode tomorrow, and the rest of the series’ simulcast is on indefinite hold.

Funimation Marketing Director Lance Heiskell told ANN, “We are disappointed that this series has been distributed illegally, and we’re actively working to remove the first episode from illegal streaming and downloading sites; we’ve got a dedicated anti-piracy team in place that works on controlling all of our simulcast material. However, our Japanese partners for this series have decided that since this episode is currently uncontrolled and is available illegally in all territories, they don’t want the episode online.”

America: “Wait, this is retarded!” “So you mean the only way now is to watch the show illegally?” “We understand your frustration, but it should be directed towards the speedsub groups that created this problem.” “I’m prepared to send you the name and address of at least one prominent member of a speedsubbing group who did Fractale.”

The rest of the world: NOT A FUCK WAS GIVEN THAT DAY.

UPDATE: Looks like they got it back somehow. Nice try, marketing.

Yosuga no Sora BD-DVD Episode Ordering

Yosuga no Sora

Anime News Network reports:

The official website for the anime Yosuga no Sora confirmed this week that the Blu-ray release will have a different episode order from the DVD release, but it also revealed that some episodes will be included on more than one Blu-ray volume.

The first Blu-ray volume will contain the first four broadcasted episodes. However, it will have two versions of episode 2 — the “BGM (background music) Kazuha Migiwa Ver.” and the “O.A (On Air) Ver.”

The second Blu-ray volume will contain the first, second, fifth, and sixth broadcasted episodes. However, it will have two versions of episode 2 — the “BGM Akira Amatsume Ver.” and the “O.A Ver.”

The third Blu-ray volume will contain the first broadcasted episode and “three other episodes.” The limited and standard editions of the fourth Blu-ray volume will each contain the first broadcasted episode and four other episodes.

The four DVD volumes will each contain three episodes in broadcast order, for a total of 12 episodes.

So the information from Animesuki forums was true after all.

Well, I certainly wouldn’t mind it being done this way. If say I only liked Sora’s arc, I could just grab the last BD volume and not worry about having missing episodes. Besides, it’s just stupid to sell a Blu-Ray containing only two episodes *coughAmagamicough*

Evangelion 2.22 breaks 800k preorders

OreImo Light Novel Gets Anime

Yeah, Anime News Network just reported it.

An anime adaptation of Tsukasa Fushimi’s Ore no Imouto ga Konnani Kawaii Wake ga Nai light novel series has been green-lit. The story follows the daily life of a high school boy named Kyōsuke Kōsaka. Kyōsuke’s younger sister Kirino is a fashion model but also a secret otaku. Fushimi has been writing the light novels since 2008, and the sixth volume is shipping in May.

Not surprising news since the manga just started and a really high quality Drama CD for OreImo also came out recently. It’s quite the quirky series and definitely in the “moé“(shit) niche so it’s not gonna be for everyone.

I do hope they keep the cast from the drama CD, Nakamura Yuichi did a great job in it as the brother and Kana Hanazawa in a rather different type of character than she usually gets was pretty awesome fun. Taketatsu Ayana voices the imouto, by the way.

Let’s just hope a /decent/ production studio gets this job.

UPDATE: Looks like Aniplex is getting the job.

Atsuhiro Iwakami (Kara no Kyoukai – the Garden of sinners, Kannagi, Cencoroll) is producing the anime at Aniplex with publicity producer Yūma Takahashi. The back of the wraparound jacket band on the sixth light novel volume will announce the director, scriptwriter, and animation production studio of the anime.

That’s a relief, I guess?

Kizumonogatari, Nisemonogatari announced?

The online retailer Amazon in Japan lists Blu-ray and DVD editions of Kizumonogatari and Nisemonogatari — the prequel and sequel, respectively, to NisiOisin’s Bakemonogatari light novel series. Amazon’s listings do not necessarily indicate definite release plans or dates. (Pictured at right are the original light novel volumes of Kizumonogatari and the two-volume Nisemonogatari.)

Awesome, so we get to see Shinobu-chan in action? Also, vampire-mode Araragi is fine too.

But first…. where is the rest of Tsubasa Cat, SHAFT?!

True Tears BD Box Confirmed!

Source: http://www.pixiv.net/member_illust.php?mode=medium&illust_id=1123796

The official website for the true tears anime series has confirmed on Monday that 2,000 Blu-ray Box pre-orders had been received — the minimum needed to give the planned Blu-ray conversion project the official go-ahead. The box will add about three minutes of new, unaired anime footage as an epilogue. The epilogue will depict the future of the main characters after the 13th and last television episode.

Source: Anime News Network

Fuck yes! While I can’t say I had a hand in this, but it still pleases me to know that at least 2000 fans of true tears exist that like the series enough to buy a BD box of it.

Of course, aside from the 1080p quality (which the series damn well deserves), the new epilogue is probably one of the more anticipated things coming from this box set. I just hope it’s not 3 mins long or something….. I want to know what happens to Hiromi and Shinichiro :P.

Twitter is addictive

Yeah it is. Now I get why it’s such a phenomenon. I’ve been actually on Twitter for the past 2 weeks or so and I’ve gotten pretty comfortable with it.

With that, I’m adding a small twitter feed on my sidebar which will show the latest 5 tweets from my Twitter account as well as a link to the full thing if you want to follow my (spoilerish and spammy) ramblings.
