Lucky Star Re-Mix 002

Lucky Star

Holy shit. JAM Project singing Motteke! Sailor-fuku.

Yes, that JAM Project.
Yes, I’m not joking.
Yes, it’s true.
Yes, I know it’s so wrong, but it’s so right as well.

Anyways, listen to it yourself. It’s actually pretty good, IMHO. Apart from that track and the CD’s cover, the whole album sucks as usual. I take that back, Track 6 is actually pretty awesome.

SUNSHINE & MOONLIGHT

Seto no Hanayome

Holy shit.

They actually released Nemuri no Uta on an album. All freaking 27 seconds of it LOL!!!

“Ra~ ri~ ho~ Ra~ ri~ ho~ Ra~ ri~ Ra~ ri~ho~”

I’m so making it my handphone ringtone.

Anyways, MOONLIGHT is rather lackluster and honestly to say…. all the duet songs are really dominated by Momoi Halko. LUNAR only versions sound really… “mono”, while I didn’t notice any difference in the SUN versions lol. Also, Lunar’s only single, Tatakai no Uta, was rather disappointing to hear the album version. She was more… EPIC in the TV series :P.

Animelo 2007

Just acquired the DVD’s for this year’s Animelo 2007. “Wow it was awesome” just begs to be said.

Best parts of the concert has to be, hands down, the three duet performances. The first one, opening up the concert was Rinbu Revolution duet by Masami Okui and Nana Mizuki, coordinated amirably and giving the audience a brief glimpse of the amazingness to come. The next duet, ALI PROJECT and Nana Mizuki singing Seishoujo Ryouiki is the sole reason why I lusted to watch this concert, after watching it thanks to a friend. And the last one was Ushiro-yubi Sasare-gumi duet by Minami Kuribayashi and Halko Momoi… where they both cosplayed in seifuku to add up to it…

On to the individual perfomances, my favourites include JAM Project’s, Nana Mizuki’s and Chihara Minori’s. JAM PROJECT’s performance was definitely as awesome as their songs are, can’t help but to feel really burned up when they were performing. Nana Mizuki needs no further introduction, as she’s definitely the best single performer of the concert in terms of singing and energy level. She’s no newcomer to Budokan (the venue) as well, and she definitely uses up the stage areas fully. Coming close behind her is Chihara Minori, singing out her two songs, Junpaku Sanctuary and Kimi ga Kureta Ano Hi, with a gracefulness that she only she can exude out fully. Ahh… truly like a real lady.

Other good performers include Momoi Halko, with her signature voice, singing Romantic Summer. Takahashi Yoko also participated, singing a medley of Tamashii no Refrain and Cruel Angel Thesis, kinda wanted her to also perform Yoake Umarekuru Shoujo. ALI PROJECT sung Yuukyou Seishunka, Ankoku Tengoku and Hizamazuite Ashi o Oname in their unique way :P. Suara wow’ed me with her live renditions of Musouka and Kimi ga Tame.

Aya Hirano was also guest performing one song for Animelo, Bouken Desho Deshou ~punk version~. Immediately noticeable is her increased confidence in performing live, and she did perform really well, unlike her back in the Haruhi concert. Unfortunately, the song still kinda sucks. Well, let’s just say Aya Hirano’s current image isn’t at all to my taste…*coughahliancough*.

In conclusion, really awesome concert. Really wished I could’ve been there, but too bad :(.

Animelo 2007: Nana Mizuki x Ali Project

Suddenly, my life feels a little bit complete now.

/r/ Nana Mizuki cover versions of Seishoujo Ryouiki and Kinjirareta Asobi. Damn, Nana-chan wins.

Goshuushou-sama Ninomiya-kun OP Theme: Yubikiri

Man, this song and Furefurepponpon! are too damn addictive >.<. I think I’ve racked up like a 100 repeats for Yubikiri and 150 for Furefurepponpon! already.

Anyways, here’s the lyrics to Yubikiri as well, which is kinda nice after you get used to it. I still love the chorus part of Yubikiri a lot, the lyrics for it are pretty meaningful :). Credits goes 100% to geister.

Goshuushou-sama Ninomiya-kun ED Theme: Furefurepponpon!

Seriously, addictive song. I’ve listened to it at least 40 times already since yesterday >.<

A friend of mine, geister, takes all the credits for doing the transliteration of the song. I only did some QC checks and arranged the lyrics according to the original sheet.

That being said, this song was surprisingly pretty long on the lyrics. I kinda tried to translate it as well, but there’s quite a number of words that are hard to translate properly to English, so I scrapped the idea in the end.

Ninomiya-kun OP Single

Goshuushou-sama Ninomiya-kun

Is it me, or is Reika conspicuously flat in this cover?

キタ━━━━(゚∀゚)━━━━ !!!!!

Yay! It’s finally out! I’ve been waiting for it for a long time! You won’t believe how deep Yubikiri was stuck in my head for the past few weeks.

Well, sad to say that Yubikiri full version was rather disappointing to me, since I felt it lost the “oomph” and beat of the TV version in the conversion to the full 3 minutes version. Sometimes, I feel that they write the songs for the TV version first, then only haphazardly make the song longer for the single :(.

On the other hand, the full version Furefurepponpon still manages to keep the “oomph” and beat of the TV version throughout the song and I must say, I can’t stop looping the song for now. In fact, I’m on my 20th round as I’m writing this lol. Fure fure~ adorena-escalation!

Gotta say too, the jacket design is done in the old fashioned way too, so it really makes me nostalgic somewhat, of the era where “cheap fanservice” shows were the dominant genre. Not that I want that era back, but well, my moe sense was fashioned during those times, so it just brings me back :P.

FUCK YEAH, YOU ARE THE BEST ALBUM NAME EVER. TRACK TWO, YOU ARE THE BEST TRACK NAME EVAR!

Ok, 4chanism aside, this album really is LOL. Last of the Lucky Star character albums, and they MUST poke fun of Konata, Yutaka and Minami.

Overall, not a bad album. Track 1 was kinda boring, but track 2 is definitely nice to listen, even more with such win name, “Lolita Teikoku Bishoujo Taitei”. “Lolita Teikoku” = “Lolita Empire”, but can’t seem to get what “Bishoujo Taitei is, lol.

Lucky Star Shirashi Ending CD

Lucky Star

Hahahahaha, this CD is finally out. Oh man, can’t stop laughing…. hahahahaha!!!!

Anyways, the CD booklets and stuff are all totally in white, I guess they don’t wanna waste too much if the CD bombs.

On to the music, the first 13 tracks of the CD are basically direct rips of the TV ED’s he’s done, complete with all the background noise and shit. Not exactly the best part of the CD, unless you want his Ore no wasuremono song.

The next four tracks are full songs, professionally recorded and all, and the tracks are his now-infamous Ore no Wasuremono, Shikaider no Uta (oh god I hope they don’t make a series out of this), Kaorin no Theme and Koi no Minorun Densetsu.

Surprisingly, I must say, he really can sing. And pretty well at that too. Kaorin no Theme is a nice, slowly sung love ballad, which kinda makes me wonder if he, uh, likes Kaori Fukuhara. Koi no Minorun Densetsu is basically a rock version of the original song, with customized lyrics for Shirashi. Shikaider no Uta is…uh, well, a song you’d expect from a sentai or henshin show. Lastly, his Ore no Wasuremono is a enka-style song, themed on his now infamous lines.

Out of this 4, I’d say my favourite is Kaorin no Theme and it’s going to my permanent playlist… a wonder considering that the only other male singers on it now are JAM Project and Sambomaster :o.
