The only highlight of this chapter. Eva-sama! It’s been a while!

Otherwise, it was more revelations about Negi inheriting some SUPAH-POWAFURU ancient magic thanks to being Arika’s son and such. Yue’s Artifact is a informations-dealer desire come true. Also, Rakan and Fate still sparring in the pocket dimension made by catgirl. Looks like Rakan’s about to lose though.

God, Arika-hime’s story is more heart-wrenching than I thought. I find it truly saddest that people misunderstand good intention and sacrifice of others for the gain of their own self-deceit and glory.

Negi goes berserk. He really is pretty frightening now with the Magia Erebea power-up.

Dark Negi is…..

…. dark. (Whoaaaaaaa what’s with that demonic transformation?!)

Thankfully, Nagi (indirectly) intervenes and stops Negi.

And Chisame deals the final blow to stop Negi from staining his hands. Negi truly made a good choice by picking her to come.

Wow, Asakura getting mad. That’s a first.

After this chapter, I think the theory is that Godel was inciting Negi to murder him (or attempt to) so that he could give his bosses a legitimate reason to execute Negi. Considering all the factors and revelations, it does seem the Megalomesembrian Council is hiding something very dangerous about Arika, possibly one that could overturn Mundus Magicus, until it became desperate enough to try and erase Negi when he was young, but unfortunately failed.

But of course, I don’t think his intentions are as clear-cut as that, and there’s always the possibility he is genuinely trying to help Negi as he used to be part of Ala Rubra (indirectly) and that he is seemingly wasting so much time with Negi by inviting him to the ball, revealing everything about the attack and intentionally inciting Negi to kill him.

In any case, next chapter should see some interesting revelations.

And now, back to the main plot.

Heh, straight off the one week break and Akamatsu directly throws us this. He sure is good at picking the pace up.

At this point, I don’t think the revelation of the true culprit behind the attack on Negi’s village is surprising anymore considering all the hints we’ve been given earlier. So I guess there a real good reason why the real world and the magic world don’t seem to get along very well with each other, and considering the politics and stuff… hell, I wouldn’t be surprised if Fate turns out to be the good guy!

Can’t wait to hear the details next chapter. And on what side is Godel truly on?

Maaaan….. Akamatsu sure isn’t getting tired of the ’screwing’ of Chachamaru.

Same thing me and some other Negima fans have had a heated discussion about….. “Does Chachamaru have a soul, and if she does, does she qualify for a Pactio?”

Looks like we’re about to find out…..

……aaaaaaaaaand it works! So it looks like I have to swallow my words now that it’s conclusively proven that Chacha has got her own Pactio.

And so, Akamatsu takes yet another of his breaks, so it’ll be another full week before a new chapter is finally out. Since the Pactio mini-arc is now done, looks like it’s gonna be all serious business again after the break.

Ah, finally back after another hiatus week. This time focusing on Natsumi and Ku Fei.

Awwwww… Natsumi-neechan’s jealous. I guess this is one thing I like about Negima, on how Akamatsu balances the class with attractive and much more ‘normal’ girls and still achieves a very nice balance of character development with both. Of course it’s mostly skewed towards the main Ala-Alba group, but moments like this are pretty enjoyable too.

Ouch. Kotarou. Ouch.

And we suspend Natsumi’s spotlight for next week, while we move on to this week’s main act, Ku Fei.

Heh, arm wrestling challenge huh.

“We can’t just start a fight in this place…” yeah right. So damaging the hall’s floor is okay instead?

Predictably, Negi wins. I mean, he’s already pretty much one of the highest tier characters in the manga in terms of strength ranking…
