The updated class roster was interesting though. Also liked how Akamatsu did the riverbank pages. That was certainly quite cinematographic. Just when you think he’s slipping… he pulls chapters like this and 350 off…

I guess this marks the end of the carefree middle school phase of the series. Now, what will Akamatsu be doing with the series? There’s still a ton of stuff unanswered. I just hope it doesn’t turn in to a “rescue Asuna” arc suddenly next week though. I think I might throw things if it happens.

It’s finally out…. time to continue enjoying the awesome Eva vs Negi+Asuna fight.

While Negi, Asuna and Evangeline are enjoying themselves, Setsuna (and the readers) finally learn the price Asuna will be paying…

Yup. She’s going to sealed back again as the “foundation” of Mundus Magicus. Considering all the hints thrown about Asuna so far, it wasn’t surprising to see this coming, but it’s certainly a shock to know she’ll be going so soon. And she’s going to be gone for a full century too. ORZ

Back to the fight, shit is about to get real….

… until it doesn’t. Dammit, Negi how damn sensitive is that nose of yours! I wanted to see Titanoktonon -Kosmik Katastrophe ver- too. Eva sure landed at a nice position though, with Asuna’s mad face providing me with real good laugh despite the seriousness just merely a page ago.

Negi turns in to immortal shota and the first thing you wonder is if he’ll be able to make a family. Oh youuuuuuu!

Looks like Asuna’s joining in as well. Let’s see how she fares in combat now that she’s gotten her Twilight Princess identity back.

And yup… we still haven’t heard of Asuna’s “price” yet. Oooh, can’t bloody wait for next week now!

Jeebus, I practically put up the entire chapter here in this post. Well, considering it’s significance, I think this little extravagance of bandwidth is warranted :)

Obviously, the biggest moment of the chapter has to be finally seeing Eva use Magia Erebea. And even then I don’t think for a second here that that’s her full strength. She just said she’d not “hold back”.. which doesn’t equate to full power. Even the spell she Armationem’ed with, doesn’t seem to be the strongest spell she has, but I guess we’ll have to wait for the tankoubon to confirm. Even then, Negi in Mega Dunamena mode wasn’t even a match for it ^^;;. God, I wonder what craziness would Eva unleash if she used Kosmik Katastrophe…. since the effects are multiplicative too.

And of course, Asuna’s true status and abilities now also remain in question, since the ending of the second Cosmo Entelachia arc was pretty damn unsatisfying. If she can really freely nullify magic fully now, then I guess even Eva would have quite a problem dealing with her too. Of course, you still can’t put Eva down for the count given her age, skills and experience. We’ll just see what happens next week!

Well, Setsuna’s chapter sure was funny, plus quite a number of the main Negi Party members got a chance to tell us their current future aims. Obviously most of them involve Negi in some form, but Yuuna’s dream to marry her papa sure threw a spanner in the works there for a moment. Not sure to laugh or look aghast…

Of course, it looks like Akamatsu’s done with the fanservice mode for now and is slowly switching back things to serious mode. With Evangeline giving her “final” lesson to Asuna and Negi, I suppose dealing with the Lifemaker should form the next arc. Of course, that’s going to next year probably. I’m guessing the lesson should last for another 3 chapter at the least… I hope.

As for the price they paid… I’m not sure if it’s something tangible, but it could be also an intangible thing too like their newly found fame and/or Negi’s giant responsibility of saving Mundus Magicus plus uniting the two worlds. I guess we’ll see.

Dear god, Akamatsu’s going all out before his two week break. I mean, this is probably the craziest and funniest of the fanservice chapters so far. I’ve almost forgotten how hilarious Ayaka can be with her crush on Negi-sensei. And man, FUCKING TRAP NEGI APPEARING OUT OF NOWHERE GODDAMNIT AKAMATSU Y U DO DIS?!!!!!!!

Anyways, the Pactio System is turning out to be quite… malleable, isn’t it? And I thought Chacha’s Pactio was going to be the nastiest craziest. Ayaka’s one easily tops that now. I mean, Negi almost got reverse Pactio’ed instead LOLOLOL. Man, that was madness.

Akamatsu’s still saving Naba-nee’s card ability though, but I wonder what kind of crazy ability she’s got. I hope it’s not something related to.. uh.. suppositories?

Anyways, we’ll see what happens next after the two week break is up. Must be his wedding anniversary this month or something.

Oh well, this was a fun chapter. I’m glad Chisame gets a full chapter for us to catch up with her. And she really is getting full use out of the age pills. I mean dear god, that banana plushie shot. I really wonder how far will she take it if she discovered those way earlier… herp.

Also, we finally got to know Negi’s way to save Mundus Magicus… terraform it to become like Earth. As expected from the Thousand-Master’s son. Well, not really much of a surprise to me since I kinda figured that out as a possibility way earlier in the previous arc, not to mention they’ve dropped quite a lot hints about it. But really, terraforming the entire planet eh… sure does make me think what exactly is the future Chao wants to prevent for Mars that she took all that risk to come back through time and influence Negi enough. I hope everything will eventually tie in, but god damn at this stage you really got hand to Akamatsu’s planning.
