I haven’t been blogging much lately owing to a major angst attack last week, which explains my emo blogging recently, and seems to be continuing on to this week. I was feeling totally demotivated to do anything, even watching anime, which I currently have about 4 series (not including the ones I usually watch) in backlog.

I guess I’ll give them a little mention as well. First off, Pita Ten is quite nice to watch. Yukari Tamura shines in this one, with her voicing of Misha, the devilish troublemaker angel. The other characters are fun to watch as well, and I really have to say that Ten-chan and Kotaro-kun already win over the whole Bounty List at their tender age of 10. Koboshi-chan surely made the correct choice early on :).

Next off, Paranoia Agent is proving to be a great surreal series to watch as macabre as it is. Noto Mamiko also playes quite prominently in it, which is an instant +10 fanboyism to me. My favourite ones for now, is that episode “Happy Family Planning”, about a trio who tries to commit suicide, and “ETC”, where a bunch of housewives compete with each other to tell the most macabre(read:illogical) tales about the villain :).

As for Ginban Kaleidoscope, “Kiss my ass” wins, but not enough to make me marathon it in one round, while Nadesico is proving to be too crazy for my angst-infested mind now. So I’ll leave this two for later.

In other news, Matthew’s blog reports a remake of the Negima anime but in the form of OVA’s to be shown in Negima events. Looking at the pics already makes it seem there’s some hope, but I won’t be too quick to jump on the bandwagon. In any case, it should (hopefully) be at the least, 1% better than XEBEC’s horrible butchering of Negima in it’s anime version.

While over at ANN, as if in response to my earlier post (scroll down or click here), they’re organizing a Narutard Naruto Design-A-Ninja Contest. Mr. Answerman already wins for sarcasm , just by looking at the sample he threw in. I say he should post some of the lamest entries for all to see, which I think at least 95% of the entries will be. Random selection should be fine XD.

Actually, (the Almighty) jason has created and coded a new succesor for ABT, blog好き, an upgraded version of ABT, with more features, such as Archives, Popularity indicators(what do they call this new things anyways?) and the all-important Google(darn my inner geek-tionary)… Search function. So change your bookmarks and head on over there to enjoy :).

Well, I forgot to mention it earlier, but I did also catch a few episodes of Mythbusters while I was having SIDS.

I found myself having a new obssession attraction towards Kari Byron, who’s part of the Mythbusters team and possibly the hottest woman on TV right now.

OK, I have to admit that it was a bit exaggerated, but for me and my 2D complex, Kari’s seriously one of the rare 3D females I’m genuinely attracted to. Kari’s just sooo cute, lovely, sexy and I daresay it, moé too :). There’s just something about her that really attractive in the whole package. Getting the whole Mythbusters second season now, just to watch her :). Ah…. Kari’s really the sweet and cute icing on the delicious cake that is Mythbusters.

No, it’s not that SIDS or even this SIDS, it’s Severe Internet Deficiency Syndrome, which was I was having the past 4 days.

The story goes like this. It was a fine Wednesday and I went out to my old school, SJI, to celebrate it’s 102nd birthday. While I was out, my new 4 Port router was delivered and installed, but wasn’t set-up to connect to the Internet. Then, when I came back…. horror of horrors, I found that it didn’t work and I couldn’t access the modem setup page _|-|o””’……

I promptly called and the guy who sold me the router came over and also failed in accessing the modem page, so he took it back, leaving me Net-less for the past few days _|-|o””’^²….. and only today, when his boss came and finally fixed it up.

Over the past few days, I survived mainly on **Collected Short Stories of Roald Dahl**(which I must say, he’s a darn good writer), **Kill Bill Vol.1** and a halfway damaged HK bootleg Mahoromatic DVD. I have to thank the higher beings for allowing me to retain my sanity and not go batshit insane survive this long \o/.

I have to say, someone or something must hate me a lot. In the span of one week of my holiday, I’ve already destroyed my PC’s mobo and lost my Internet. I “gleefully” await the next week, which I “hope” will be as eventful as this week. If it does…… I must say that the Chinese curse of “May you live in interesting times” is really really effective.

Now, I’m desperately catching up on this week’s shows. Expect an entry flood later on.

As title says, yes I have screwed up my PC, badly too. I can’t even start it up now_|-|0””. Seems to be a motherboard problem. Hopefully I didn’t screw up the components T_T.

Luckily I have my old PC lying around. Ugh…. 128MB of RAM really sucks :(.

Just about a week ago, the KOSMO! Anime = Hentai controversy erupted resulting in the newspaper receiving tons of hate from the although small, but still sizable and vocal anime fans community in Malaysia.

Now this morning, I’d just picked up the newspaper to read, and being a loyal reader of The Star, one of the top and most widely distributed newspapers nationwide, I was pleasantly surprised that their Variety section had a 3 page article on anime and manga fandom in Malaysia, which is quite unprecendented over here. Plus, it was just the inaugural article for a new weekly column, OtakuZone, which as it’s namesake, is a column focusing on anime and manga.

I’m glad for The Star for starting this column as this is a positive step into increasing the exposure of anime and manga in Malaysia, by featuring it in the mainstream newspapers. Hopefully this will bode well for the otaku community in Malaysia. Kudos to the OtakuZone team :)
