AFA 2008: The day before…

God, I’m crazy tired. Thank god Singapore and thank god Hakuro for Internet access.

It’s been a hectic first day with me travelling from KL to Singapore and directly heading to the event venue with nary a break to catch the press conference and to interview May’n in person.

While things were fashionably late as usual, there was a high level of professionalism that the organizers did show that pretty much negates the wait.

Seeing all the special guests in the flesh was a really fun experience especially Ichirou Mizuki who really spiced up the stage.

The interview with May’n went well although I was really nervous the whole time I was doing it. Never thought 20 minutes would be ever so long lolololol. And to think I was scared I couldn’t get any questions in before hand. Gotta hand it to Ms Florence for accomodating us all for the interview.

Even managed to get Hakuro’s single signed for him. Fella’s pretty darn happy about it, hahaha, he tells me he is eternally greatful and can never trully repay me.I left mine at home sadly T_T. God so feel like jumping down from a building when I realised it earlier today.

Also met up with some of the Singaporean bloggers. sentinel, ume, bjorn, xak @ shane, dodgethis, julius_firefocht and they took me to Liang Court where I bought my Negima Ala Alba OAD2 for 56 SGD thanks to zelfi’s Kino discount card. God I love Singapore’s Kino.

Anyways, time to rest and sleep for tomorrow. Hopefully AFA 08 will be a blast.

May’N is gonna suck our money awayyyyyyyy~

They finally came out with the VIP ticket pricing.

Diamond VIP Pass: S$118, front row seats, guaranteed autographs, limited to 80 spots.

Normal VIP Pass: S$68, behind the Diamond seating, 20 lucky draw spot for autographs, limited to 300 spots.

Oh, and the concert is 7pm. So that means one more extra night to stay over at Singapore for me.

Well, what can I say? May’N isn’t worth me spending nearly RM 300 for a signature and a handshake. If it was Noto-sama or Hocchan or Minorin, I would’ve, but…..

I dunno, I just don’t think May’N is worth that much. So far, her only notable achievement is still Macross Frontier and she’s pretty much being marketed as a pop idol, so… yeah. If I can meet her, I would be happy about it, but spending RM 300 for that? Not really my cup of tea, plus I don’t have the money either. Then again, it’s Singapore, so I should’ve expected this :(. Even the “normal” VIP pass is pretty damn expensive.

Well, I guess no autographed Diamond Crevasse/Lion CD for me ;_;.

AFA 2008: Pre-event updates 01

A flurry of updates over the past two days as I was taking 14-hours naps after being released from my academic responsibilities.

I’m still concerned about the “yet-to-be-confirmed” seiyuu attending the event and the lack of a solid event itinerary is kinda making me hard to plan the amount of days I should be staying in Singapore. I just hope they will get everything settled before October ends. I’m dying to know who the other seiyuu is. I’m gonna have a good laugh if it’s Endo Aya though… I would like to meet her too. Everyone seems to forget she’s the true voice of Sheryl, lol.

One interesting thing about AFA is how close the organizers are to the bloggers, even inviting one to help in a prestigious PR role, and AFA will be quite a good experiment to see the marketing power and influence by utilizing bloggers to reach the masses. I’m already quite envious at my colleagues for already getting first hand info and even media passes from the organizers.

May’n in Singapore! OMG! OMG! OMG!

OMG! OMG! OMG! OMG! They just announced May’n’s gonna be in Singapore for Anime Festival Asia 2008. I am totally freaking out (in a good way) about this. Now I have a good excuse to go to Singapore and visit all my kouhai bloggers there, ROFL.

It’s too bad only May’n’s going, they could’ve brought Megumi along as well and then we might be able to see Triangler (fight on stage) live!

More information over here, looks like AFA 2008 is gonna be a pretty darn huge event. Definitely not gonna miss it, but looks like I’m gonna be especially broke afterwards ._.

Tokikake on the silver screen

Tokikake

Not a Tokikake post without this pose.

Well, barely a week after my viewing of Evangelion 1.0 in Cathay, GSC’s Japanese film festival brought in Toki wo Kakeru Shoujo to local theaters. Makes me wonder, what will be next? I would die if Byosoku 5cm got aired here, lol.

Anyways, the real experience wasn’t really that awesome though, because due to the weekend and the unexpected popularity of the show, me and my friends from AnimeShrine only got the front row seats, seriously the first row from the screen, mind you, so we have to crane our necks quite a bit to watch T_T. My other fellow Emina Cyber friends couldn’t even get any tickets, bless their poor souls :(.

Aside from that too, I suspect they used a HK or Taiwan bootleg DVD for the screening, since the picture quality was DEFINITELY not 9mm and they even had the black letterbox bars too! This also resulted in quite some pixelation, compounded by the fact I was seating right below the screen too. The subs and the typeface was a dead giveaway as well, but thankfully, the translations weren’t too terrible although they took some lines out of context.

There was also additional problems with the sound as well, since the back channels were kinda missing, so I suspect they chose the 5.1 surround and outputted the sound wrongly. It was a bit irritating for my first time watching friends, but wasn’t too pronounced with me because I’ve already watched it.

As for the movie, it’s definitely a good watch, suitable for families too, and I’m not kidding when I say the cinema had a lot of kids and families watching the movie. I think it’s a good exposure for them, although Makoto’s long running scene did elicit quite some naughty laughs in the cinema (you know you did it!). Some of my friends even nearly cried near the end too, lulz.

Otherwise, it was a pretty nice outing for me, and I’m quite surprised to be actually going to the cinema two weeks in a row lol. Finances are kinda fucked up right now though, unfortunately :X.

Evangelion 1.0 is getting shown in Malaysia

Evangelion 1.0

Oh wow. Holy fuck. How come no one told me about this!!! The things you miss when you stop reading the (government propaganda distribution) newspapers.

Right, so I’m definitely going. Definitely. Better book the tickets now.

Kane’s Wrath (and birthdays)

Finished Kane’s Wrath. God damn, I really lose myself when I play all this games. Stupid Nod missions throw tons of surprises at you.

Especially hate the Temple Prime mission, because I wasted time building up my initial base, only to be stolen by AI and forced to go commando. Not to mention the game crashed at the mission completion. Then the final Nod mission was WTF too, because there’s only 6 mins to capture the final mission objective… but a MARV and a whole fucking base to take out before that…. 2 hours of base building gone down the drain. DAMN YOU EA. Not to mention the stupid Nod campaign ended with more cliffhangers, yet again. Someone, really, please kill EA’s story writers.

On the plus side, it’s pretty fun to play Nod now, and I’m pretty particular to the Black Hand faction. PuriFIRErs are fucking awesome when upgraded. It’s truly a sight to see when a group of 10 Purifiers march in to a fully garrisoned city, and clean it all out in under 3 minutes, with only 2-3 casualties. Flame on, baybeh.

Nod’s new artillery rocks too, and it works way better than Beam Cannons. The new upgrades are fun too, especially Particle beam upgrades. They make base defending really cheap, using Shredder walls. Hell, they work even better than PEW PEW PEW LAZERS.

Haven’t tried the GDI or Scrin factions yet… maybe tomorrow. Also need to try out the Global Conquest mode.

And before I forget, it’s Ayako Kawasumi and Megumi Hayashibara’s birthday today (totally forgot the day, lol). I wish them both another wonderful year (and more roles too).

GACC 2008: A sincere apology.

To the people on that Friday night/Saturday morning when Masakazu Morita-san came in for a surprise visit to the GACC committees, I sincerely apologize for hijacking myself in some of your group photos.

I was pretty caught up in the flow of things that night, being surprised and all, so I didn’t realize that it was inappropriate for me to be inside some of your group pictures. For that, I have nothing but myself and only myself to blame.

However, I would also like to say here that I am not a particularly socially sensitive person, and I admit that I am an dumbass at noticing social cues which are pretty obvious, so I would’ve appreciated it if someone could’ve pointed out my mistakes to me before hand. I am not a person who is afraid to admit my own wrongdoings, but I am a person who really hates to be kept in the dark and forced to accept punishment without any knowledge of the reason.

Again, I apologize sincerely for the incident, and I shall endeavor to not repeat the same mistake again, to the utmost of my abilities. I dearly hope for everyone who I have hurt their feelings will accept this sincere apology of mine.

Comments will be closed as this is not an incident that concerns my regular blog readers, but I felt that using my blog as the platform is the best way to reach out to all the people that I have offended as I do not have all their personal contacts.
