Okawari go!

Okay, my fears have been allayed. That was an awesome episode of Minami-ke. While the art was actually rather crappy, but the humor was actually pretty awesome.

Haruka-neesama continues to accumulate more love from me, and we know from this episode that she’s hopeless with maps. I also cracked up seeing her in a specs-mustache mask thing, and her attempt to do a comedy performance in a monkey suit, lol.

Best part of the episode has to be Kana exposing herself fully to Fujioka, inadvertently, thanks to the gender-bender play by Touma and Mako-chan. Fujioka’s expression after he saw that was freaking priceless. I was laughing for a good 5 mins there.

You have gotta see Fujioka’s expression after that.

Still got a few gripes with the art though…. Haruka’s boobs in the onsen were…. suffice to say, scary. Mostly because they FLOAT like this. Maa~~ at the least, the humor in the episode more than made up for it.

The new OP is definitely unexpected, since the tune is rather suited for more serious stuff, it really misled me to think that the series changed genres instead. Some disturbing shots of Hosaka in it too. ED is rather bland for me, but might change after a few more listens. Also, the ED feels out of place too :P.

Overall, I approve of Okawari in general, and hope they’ll keep up with the good work on it. I’ll really have to say the humor level is actually higher than Minami-ke I was.

P.S. : Wow, the phone at their house changed positions and it’s now a rotary-dial phone. Interesting….

Oh shit. Kana got raped. I thought Hosaka was somewhat scary, but Hayami-senpai is even scarier, knocking down both Chiaki and Haruka plus raping Kana. That has gonna be a New Year to remember for Kana….. orz.

This two actually got off easier than Kana…

Also, Touma looks awesome in the hakama, but as Kana says, she needs some discretion ^^;;….

Needs to has bandage bra.

Christmas episode. I must say the laughs are rather lacking this episode, though there were still some awesome moments such as Chiaki meeting Fujioka Santa and how Touma’s brothers are so useless. No wonder she turned out to be like that XD.

Also LOL at poor Fujioka for being unable to give Kana his present of twin ribbons…. they don’t match her anyways.

Girly Kana is soo wrong.

And that was definitely “Kimochiwarui” Hosaka in that TV shot of the Fundoshi Santa event. Definitely

More Minami-ke madness this week. Touma Minami, self-decided “younger brother” by Chiaki, is introduced. More Mako-chan too, and we all know Mako-chan is our favorite trap this season, so yippee!

Thanks to them both, the LULZ factor this episode was pretty high, but the best one… has gotta be Mako-chan’s magic trick at the very end of the episode. Second best was Chiaki asking Touma’s birth month, which is April, then 90 degree angle change to declaring since she’s autumn (Chi”Aki”) and Touma’s winter (the “Tou” kanji), therefore she’s the elder sister. Chiaki can be such a sore loser at times XD.

TA-DAAA!!! HENSHIN COMPLETE!

Liking a lot of Nana Mizuki’s rendition of Touma Minami as well, since it’s like the first time I’ve seen her doing a role that isn’t a “silent at first, opens up later” archetype. Finally she gets a role which allows her a more dynamic range of voicing.

Lastly, just saddens me to know that there’s only 2 more Minami-ke episodes left, especially with Nana Mizuki joining in the lineup at this point of time. Minami-ke: Okawari doesn’t seem to be the comedy type… but maybe… maybe…

I’ll have to hand it to Daisuke Ono… only he can pull gay and weird characters like Hosaka off this well.

Also, Haruka-sama’s kami no shita waza is awesome! Give yourself 10 points if you got the play of words there ;).

Three words; EPIC SHOUTA CROSSDRESS! Probably the best episode yet to date. I thought Teru-teru bouzu Chiaki was lulz enough, but Mako-chan takes the cake, for now.

I swear, I almost died trying to hold back my laughter during this episode. I’d gladly crossdress for Haruka-neesama to touch my chest, although I’d probably be found out immediately and thrown in to jail, life sentence, for indecent exposure. God damn you, shouta!

Anyways, Haruka is continues to be superior.

Oh god, best episode ever. Teru-teru bouzu Chiaki is so made of win! Best teru-teru bouzu ever. If they make a figurine out of this, I am so gonna buy it and use her whenever I need a sunny day.

Also, I so agree with Kana’s logic on how Haruka’s swimsuit should be a bikini. Best logic ever. GOOD JOB, KANA! Gotta say, she’s made of more win and lol than Miu, I mean, did Miu ever get to make Nobue wear this kind of swimsuits?
