OH YEAH!!! GIRL-ON-GIRL SYMMETRICAL DOCKING!!! This show is pretty awesome… XD

The episode resumes from the end of the first, and the trio are having problems with air. Using up the remainder of their air candy, they explore Galapagos more and find an amusement park-kinda thing inside it. Enemies start attacking, but Amuri easily takes care of them using Himawari. However, a puppet robot appears, apparently emitting some sort of signature that’s an exact duplicate of Amuri, taking over her power suit. Amuri is helpless against it, since her powers do not repel “herself”.

Suzu gets scared and starts running away, escaping to her own fantasy world where a cup noodle panda is her best friend of sorts. The panda manages to convince her to fight and somehow, Suzu’s own power-suit is delivered from the space station, Shinjyugai. Using it, she takes care of the puppet robot, but a whole lot of others emerge as well.

In desperation, the two girls <del datetime="2008-07-30T10:28:48+00:00">perform Symmetrical Docking</del> powersuits employ “Coming Shift” which cancels the rejection territory between them, and reverses both their powers, so all the puppets are now magnetically attracted to them. The girls are confused at first, but Amuri soon takes charge, using the Galapogos’ giant jet kinda thing to drag the chain of puppets in to it and destroying them all in one shot. This alters the course, and Galapagos is now set to crash on Earth.

Meanwhile, Perrier is struggling with her inner demon(literally), remembering all sorts of things she was put through because of her “Infiltration” power, and over at Shinjyugai, it’s revealed that the whole thing is some sort of evil plan to destroy all humans and leave only the Adapters alive.

Another Suigintou clone?

Another interesting episode of Amuri, and it seems they’re not gonna delve much in to any backstory, but instead concentrate on the current events. This show is definitely beautiful, with all the multicolored effects and 3DCG and I’m really impressed so far with the production quality. Too bad no one seems interested in to subbing it, because it’s a bit hard to understand all the jargon-laden dialogue at times, so I’m superimposing what I know with previous tropes, XD.

It’s a bit pretty surprising the whole thing suddenly turns in to a “oh-noes, Earth-is-doomed” scenario, and the evil doer is some random dude who leads what we all thought were the good guys. It does feel very much rushed, but I suppose they can’t help it, being a 3-episode series. I’m still eager to see how this turns out however, and there’s quite of lot of interesting things in this show to make up for it

Pinballs in space!

Oh wow, this was pretty awesome. Fully CGI animated with moe-moe designs, coupled with “ikinari yuri!?“, playing pinballs in space and very, very pretty effects, this show might prove itself as a real winner.

Kakyoin Amuri is blasted out in to space, but gets saved by an eyepatch girl who’s residing inside a black sphere called Uterus. The sphere is captured by some machines to a garbage dump named Galapagos. The police launch their elite task force to retrieve the sphere and the survivors before the machines open it up, but they get pwned.

The Uterus picks up another survivor, but all hope seems lost until Amuri spots her name on the briefcase that the new girl is holding when they accidentally kissed each other. Turns out it contains a special space suit, “Spora” that enhances her Adapter powers, which in her case is the ability of repulsion.

Cue henshin sequence, and with the Spora, she plays a round of mega space pinball with a giant robot, using plasma balls. Seriously pretty. Not joking about the pinball parts too. Amuri finally pwns the robot with her powers, but shit hasn’t stopped hitting the fan as the air in the Uterus is all gone.

The show’s main concepts revolve around people called “Adapters” who seem to have interesting powers like Amuri’s Repulsion, china girl’s (Yunque “Suzu” Lin) Escape and eyepatch girl’s (Perrier “Perie” La Mer) Infiltration. Adapters also seem to have a certain tolerance for surviving in space w/o air.

There’s also interesting tech like air candies which seem to provide the user ability to breathe in space for a limited amount of time, and the Uterus, which seems to be semi-intangible as matter passes through it, possibly due to Perie’s power though.

The animation is pretty well done for CGI and manages to keep the “anime” feel to it, coupled up with some nice moe designs on the girls part, detailed designs for the Adapter effects and some really fluid animation all around. Makes me wonder how much they spent on buying time on the rendering farms.

The cast is pretty good, with Yui Makino taking the main lead and her voicing of Amuri is pretty well-done and she does a lot of the singing of the show, with a couple of nice songs from her. Amuri has all this cute “hauu~”‘s too that are kinda cute. Peri and Suzu haven’t said much themselves and their seiyuu’s aren’t known names for me. Noto Mamiko has a side part in this show though.

There’s also hints of yuri in this show…

… more in a fanservice kinda way though. But it was funny how they kept repeating that kiss from about 5-6 different angles.

Looking forward to the next part. Hope it doesn’t take too long :)
