I wonder what’s his true objective in all this.

Sure is hard to believe that HnG is a comedy manga (supposedly).

D’awww A-tan. ;_;
And the two who have been seperated for 10 years, finally meet….

… and Hayate goes straight to the point.

What will A-tan’s answer to Hayate be?

Season 2 was shorter than I thought. Didn’t they say it was gonna be another 4-cour show? Looks like it got toned down a bit huh.

Anyways, the first half of this episode is the Hina in Wonderland (LOL at the CB and Geass references) chapter, while the second half is Hayate’s adventures in buying Packy, an anime original. Pretty much Nagi sends Hayate out on an errand, and we get a “Hajimete no Otsukai”-style coverage of how unlucky Hayate really is when he’s thrown outside of the mansion. The ending was pretty touching (BAWWW’ed a bit) though, and I’ll say, the writers for this season are quite good.

Hayate’s misfortune makes even Maria and Nagi despair. He really is a genius at bad luck isn’t he?

LOL he’s so unlucky until he’s had forge his own Packy!

But really…. handmade Packy, if this was any other girl and Hayate wasn’t Hayate, we’d be seeing an out-of-the-park home run already.

And with this, the curtains go down on a rather enjoyable Season 2 of Hayate no Gotoku! I’m sure hoping that there will be another season, with the same production crew, and this time, with Athena taking centerstage. Currently the manga’s kinda right where the shit is hitting the fan, so I guess in about another year or so there should be enough material for the anime to cover in 2 or 4 cours straight.

Hayate finally realizes his true feelings for A-tan and while it doesn’t come as much as a shocker, the way it’s framed together with the ‘unofficial’ rejection (or more like a counter-confession of love) of Hinagiku adds a lot of poignancy to it. Sure is pretty serious business in Hayate nowadays, eh.

Now… I wonder what will Hayate do to realize his feelings for A-tan?

Oh, how nostalgic this is. Hina’s phobia of heights quirk is sure being used well by the author.

That said… I’ll have to say that recent chapters of Hayate have been extremely darker in tone. Mostly to do with Hayate’s unveiled past with A-tan and the current Greece arc seems to be heading in to very dramatic end, depending on how things play out. I actually do think that it may end with a lot of heartbreak amongst the Ayasaki lovers, quite possibly beginning with poor Hinagiku.

So far, the last 4 chapters have been really focused on Hayate’s growing depression after reuniting with A-tan and Hinagiku’s decision to confess probably couldn’t have come at a worse time or better timed for additional drama effect. Ah, I can’t wait for chapter 238 to see what happens…

Oh dear, Isumi makes a pretty good meido…

Especially seeing her fake smile (so viciously pointed out by Haru-san) was pretty LOL.

I can’t ask for a more perfect adaptation. J.C. Staff is doing good work in this season of Hayate no Gotoku.

In fact, they even animated one of the manga’s tankouban omake about Kotetsu-kun! Impressive, really. Makes for a real nice change in the trend of anime studios screwing up the adaptations.
