H2O ~footprints in the sand~ 02

Cute SD eyecatch is cute!
Okay, so Hirose miraculously got his eyesight back. Damn, I was hoping for him to remain blind for a while so the pimpin’ stick would be around longer, but meh.
Hirose finds out that Hayami is actually living in the forest, even catching her naked when she’s bathing. He almost gets skinned alive, but an offering of cup ramen appeases Hayami enough to let him go. Hirose gets the usual “don’t get involved with Hayami” speech again and again, but he ignores it anyways and saves Hayami from being bullied again this episode, leading to a night of them together at her dwellings to complete an art project. Hayami feels happy she has a friend now.
I still don’t get why Hayami is being outcasted so much by the village people, and the flashbacks this episode point to a fiery tragedy, and Hayami was once good friends with Hinata, now ironically the rival of Hayami for Hirose’s attention.
The village chief also places a lot of importance on Hirose himself as well, and there seems to be a lot of questions raised about what is truly happening behind the scenes. Looks like this show has some good drama potential to come, but I wonder if they’ll pull it off.
So far, it seems that Hayami will be the main girl, and I have really no complaints about. The outcast thing, her tsundere attitude and all round awesomeness is definitely delicious. I really had to laugh out loud when he strung Hirose upside down from a tree and sharpening a knife after he catches her off guard while she’s bathing. I really wonder how come she’s so poor as to actually live in a scrapped tram car inside the forest and living wild in general. But then, she still has some awesome dresses.
