So, we find out why Sora’s nursing a huge crush on Yuuta this week… he gave her a band-aid years ago. I’m not even sure if that’s something a kid would remember for a long time, much less be the reason to fall in love with a guy. Also he put it on a small scrape. Do you even usually put a band-aid on those?

A little surprised the seiyuu neighbour and the strawberry dudes made an appearance this week. The neighbour has her own cute little story in one of the manga spinoffs which I would recommend if you’re interested in knowing more about. The strawberry dudes are just hilarious. Though, to be honest, I just want more Raika. Her reaction when she finds out about the girls is going to be great entertainment.

Also Miu, I’m not sure how to be “delicacy” when your sisters keep running naked around the house. What’s he supposed to do when they won’t respect their own privacy!

Well, that was an amazingly well done episode. Looks like the first four episodes were really just a prologue.

I really like Tatsuyuki Nagai’s touch when he does works like Ano Natsu, as he really knows how to make drama play out between characters, without relying hard on plot devices or what not. Sure, it’s rather angsty as some would say, but it also does manage to reach in and touch a raw nerve too. That, and combined with the visual composition and how he incorporates all the subtle timings/cues… the whole works. I am so glad he’s the one doing this. Hell, Ano Natsu might even top the Onegai series that is its spiritual predecessor.

And true to the series traditions…

Yup! Okinawa beach episode time! I wonder if some of the familiar side characters from the Onegai series are going to be around as well. *coughdoggygirlcough*

Of course, the episode title also seems to be insinuating something fun too… :)

Proper mecha fighting episode this week, but it bored the socks off me since it was fully focused on Shrade and his sad sad past. Something about dark Element powers and a weak body, lifelong tragedies etc etc. That part about the dark Element part makes me wonder if he’s gonna be the Sirius of this series, which would be weird if Mikono is really Alicia’s “Light” half. Oh… and apparently that Alicia is still alive and preserved on Altair. *shrug*

Cool insert song after the opening this week though. Poor Andy will never get to Gattai with girls ever… ;_;

Next week looks significantly more interesting. Kimodameshi episode with Zessica? Yeaaaaah.

Since this was mainly another transition (read: talking talking talking) episode, have another cap of Shana enjoying food.

Well, the remaining three Gods sure joined in pretty easily and I was actually looking forward to them having some sort of battle (either verbal or physical) before they joined in, but it seems that Centerhill’s last words were enough after all. Then the episode suddenly swerved all the way back to Misaki and Sakai appearing before Yoshida and Eita. Apparently he needs Yoshida’s power to finish Xanadu… which I find weird lol.

Sadly enough, it also confirms that the final battleground will be in Misaki City itself. Looks like we might be seeing some collateral damage…

Hanekawa sure increased her flirting skills from the last season. I laughed like mad when she gave Araragi that “ticket”. Also his accidental exposure too. Man, he should be more careful when there’s guests over. Really liking Hanekawa’s hairstyle and glow this season.

Ahem, on a more serious note, Kaiki is really a pretty evil bastard. Not only he went serious on a middle school girl, he also freaking stole her money too. Nasty. Yeah, I’d really like to see Koyomi lay the smackdown on him. And Karen should really rely on onii-chan a little more… he’s really looking out for those two.

Also, liking a lot Shinobu becoming the Oshino of the season. Liking it a lot.

Oh crap.

So…. wow, Ryoko turns out to be the Big Bad as well? I really didn’t expect this, and what’s even more impressive is how she is masterfully hiding it under that veneer of carefree lesbianism. Of course, it’s not explicitly confirmed yet, but same voice? Same hairstyle? That sneaky grin? The barrier power? Can’t be anyone else but her… or her evil twin sister.

Well, this show is really doing a good job throwing out plot twists and character revelations. I’d even say this is becoming the dark horse of the season. While it’s not the Madoka of the year level or anything, this show is definitely shaping up to be something I can look forward to every Friday now.

Also I lol’ed at the explanation that the EU handed over Durandal to the Japanese government in exchange for writing off defaulted loans.

Nooooooooooo not Hare!!!

Well, this episode did live up to its preview. Can’t say I’m surprised about Hare being the one to bite the dust, but the way she did was… pretty heartbreaking, even for the standards of this show. Good one, production team. But man, it sure took them long enough to make this show in to Geass.

And boy, they sure flipped his switch good.

Oh man, that was so wrong.

Not a Shana series without a melonpan, right? I was kinda beginning to feel the lack of it….

Nothing much to say, since this is transition episode, with some characters kind of properly introduced. Well can’t blame the producers since there was a freaking war going on. Mainly a lot of reflection plus Shana leading the way now, providing the rest with a guidepost to follow. I like how Sophie just casually admits they lost badly. Also, why does Marcoh need to be belted in during car trips? Kinda funny isn’t it…

Well, we’ll finally get to meet the three other Gods of the Earth next week, while Bal Masque heads to Japan. I have to say, Shana is getting pretty damn international now lol.

Also, worth mentioning that the 2nd ED now has a proper sequence now and it’s got quite a lot of nice static action shots of the characters.

Hell, even makes me wish they would release an artbook of the ED. Gotta love all the effort they’re pouring in to the show this season.
