Wow, Juiz #6 totally stole the show for me. She talks back to No.6 in the way that frustrated secretaries deal with their boss’ mad requests. I sure did not expect them to be this…. human too!

Now I wish I could have my own Juiz too. Screw the 10 billion yen.

So finally, King of Eden is out and I watched it after having to refresh myself of the series by rewatching it again (herp derp).

The ending of EotE was pretty damn abrupt and the movie starts in the same way, jumping forward half a year with Saki in New York looking for Takizawa. Since subs are out and all, I’ll skip giving a summary and go directly to my thoughts.

In my opinion, King of Eden was really a “bridge” movie, by virtue of being in the “middle-of-the-trilogy”. I still don’t get why Takizawa’s sooooo abusing the amnesia trope, since all it just seems to do is to overly complicate things for himself and others. Thankfully, his pure natural charisma more than makes up for him and I didn’t really find him feeling all that different from the Takizawa in the series. Poor Saki though, going through all that hardship to finally get him back.

As for the other selecao, No. 6 is depicted as the antagonist most of the movie, but he really is pretty harmless and idiotic. No.2 finally starts his own plan in motion, while No. 10 went crazy and broke his own phone. Kuroha is the still the best though, too bad she doesn’t get too much screentime.

Juiz’s real form is finally unveiled in the form of cylindrical containers that seems to have been roaming around the highways of Japan. I only hope they weren’t doing it for the past half year or something, because that is actually pretty damn crazy to think about. It’s also apparently 12 different AI units that are supposedly initialized from the same codebase, but will learn to adapt to it’s user, which means that each Juiz eventually becomes uniquely tied to its owner. Admittedly, there was hints of such in the series but the movie really makes it explicit. Unfortunately, No.1 blows up No.12, 2 and 11′s trailers in the movie :(.

I guess one of the problems of being in the middle, is that it’s always hard to give it an objective rating. The movie begins and ends abruptly with mainly plot development but not much resolution. Good for the character building though. Well anyways, I guess now we’ll all have to wait for a few more months before the blu-rays come out for Paradise Lost and I hope to get a proper resolution to this intriguing series!

In total, 43 shows completed this year. I’m surprised at how much I managed to watch despite thinking about how slow this year was. Then again, I never did keep track of the number of shows I watched for the last few years…..

No really, the post title almost writes itself.

Eden TV ends in a serious but hilarious way and there’s like so many things I don’t fucking understand (like the missiles getting shot back down by the NEET’s or Takizawa’s final request or No.1′s cryptic “there’s still time” comment or Juiz) and there’s gonna be 2 more movies, The King of EDEN and Paradise Lost coming within the year to probably absolve all the mysteries surrounding the Selecao system. Man, talk about a protracted ending.

So… Takizawa is now the King/Prince of Japan. And he erased his memories again. Man I wonder what was he thinking and what’s gonna happen from now on. Also the show needs more of No. 7. Gawd, she’s hawt.

LOL WTF? It only costs 60 yen to make the Prime Minister of Japan to say “gyafun” on NATIONAL TELEVISION, but 220,000 yen to look for a normal, nondescript (okay, she is kinda cute) girl. Juiz or Mr. Outside must be a real cutthroat.

I guess the concierge charges must be pretty relative for abstract requests like this, probably depending on how “useful” it is towards the “Save Japan” aim. Since the PM had like a 10% approval rate increase afterwards, that’s why it was cheaper than looking for Saki which has no real bearing on “Save Japan”. In other words, ‘personal’ requests get overcharged like hell by Juiz/Mr. Outside.

That makes me wonder how money that purple-haired bitch has left. They never did show her usage records so far. Poor Oosugi-kun.

I do hope she is as pretty/sexy/cool in person as she sounds. And yes, Eden of the East is now on top of my Must-Watch list of this season after this 4 solid episodes coming from it.

EDIT: Fuck, no wonder. Juiz are the Tachikomas! Oh shit is this sum foreshadowing?
