Now I need to rewatch Ryusei no Gemini.

I doubt I’ll still be able to understand all the Izanami stuff though. I guess they are going to leave that for the extra materials or something.

One thing is for sure though, Hei and Yin will never get to live peaceful lives together.

Darker than Black Gaiden 2 is finally tying the series in from the first to the second one.

Hei and Yin’s escape from Tokyo gets more and more iffy and dangerous with every stop, latest one being Hong Kong. It’s here finally where Yin is really starting to show signs of changes… like this;

Evil Yin is… well, disturbing. After all we know about her, seeing her saying venomous things like this with that ice-cold expression does make it very unnerving.

This episode is also finally brings in the new characters of DtB2, such as Madame Oreille, Sawasaki and Kanami (post-credits) in to the fold. I do want to know exactly what is the cause for Yin’s changes and looks like the Gaiden will be answering that.

A rewatch of Ryuusei no Gemini might be in order after this.

In total, 43 shows completed this year. I’m surprised at how much I managed to watch despite thinking about how slow this year was. Then again, I never did keep track of the number of shows I watched for the last few years…..

DtB: Ryusei no Gemini 12

Uh…. what is that? Is that what I think it is?!

This scene was surprisingly unexpected, making it rather hawt.

D’aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaw Suou dying….. ;A;

And Yin finally gets to speak to Hei.

The only clue of what happened between them in the Gate’s core.

And Suou didn’t die! She just got transferred to the other world.

While apparently, Hei and Yin just disappear in to the night sky. Or something. I don’t know.

So… apparently the prophecy didn’t mean destruction of the world… it was the creation of a new one. Or something. I don’t know. This episode raised more questions than it answered! Like the first season! Only worse!

While most of the Suou-related mysteries are answered, in their place we get a whole new set of questions… like what exactly has Yin evolved into, since there was a mention of “evolved dolls” and it was implied that July is one of them. Evidently they add in back emotions to the Doll, but it apparently also gives them powers to take people’s souls(?). Also the exact mechanics of Shion’s copy power and the ME Network shit are kinda left vaguely answered, and most importantly was how the heck they populated the alternate Earth Shion created. Did they… use Hei’s h4x Contractor power?

And there’s also Madame Oreille, with her oh-so-fabulous futuristic sentai bodysuit and hover car and her part in Shion’s plan. I will assume that they wanted to recreate the original Earth… but it seems she didn’t leave the Gate world in the end, staying behind. Looks like Mao a.k.a Ricardo and her go a LOOOOOOOOONG way back too.

And finally… what really happened to Hei and Yin? They pulled off another disappearing act this time too. Gawd… I just wish… wish… that we get to see more of them. It was seriously… disappointing at how ambigious this ending was. I am just going to pray that the OVA’s coming out with the BD releases will provide a proper picture of what happened to them. Also I guess a rewatch of this series is in order as well…

Someone sure is channeling Rena here. And no, that’s a crime.

LOL, Mao’s still holding a grudge against Gai hurrr. It’s just kinda cute-funny seeing him pull that off in a flying squirrel’s body.

And finally, the big revelation…. Suou’s actually been dead for 8 years?!

I’m suspecting current Suou is a Doll with Suou’s identity implanted. Makes sense, since father is ME researcher and he’s actually pulled that trick earlier.

Also the whole Izanami/Izanagi shit is kinda confusing. Plus with Amber suddenly making a cameo as the Mitaka Documents and all….

One thing though, glad to see the old Hei back. Impressive how he pwned Hazuki this episode.

At this point, Tanya has been the longest-living non-regular Contractor in the whole series. Not a very impressive record, but it was fun while it lasted, you sexy 14-year old in military uniform you!

Wow I can’t believe they’re bringing back those two. Kiko’s fine but Gai is just…

Well, I guess they provide good comic relief.

DtB: Ryuusei no Gemini 07

Looking rather UNCLE there, Hei.

Pretty much bridge-filler episode focusing on Suou and July’s unspoken, developing bond… much akin to Hei’s first season bonding with Yin. I kinda LOL’ed at hearing Nabatame Hitomi as the treacherous ‘transporter’ Hei hires to get them out from Hokkaido to Tokyo. Too bad she’s just a one-shot character killed terribly by the end of this episode. Speaking of which…. Suou was pretty nifty at throwing those glass shards.

Major revelation this week is that Suou’s father is still pretty much alive, under Shion’s thumb and probably had a cloned body prepared to masquerade as his corpse for the Russian authorities, prompting Tanya’s return to fray… not that it’s unwelcome since she looks hawt as hell in those uniforms.

I’m just glad the show’s getting back on the serious track for now. Hopefully that’ll be the last we see of dreadlocks boy.
