Uchoten Kazoku 10

Uchoten Kazoku

EBISUGAWA SOUNNNNNNNNN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So it turns out the true culprit behind Shimogamo Soichiro’s capture was his own blood-related younger brother. Damn. In hindsight it is so goddamn obvious since he’s the one who benefits/hates him the most, but like Yasaburo says, it’s been so bloody obvious that it’s actually pretty shocking to have it finally confirmed that he really did it.

I’ll have to say, Uchoten really knows how to build up the drama and tension. Even with the twist coming from a mile away, it still hit it with quite a bit of force. The music work of this episode was seriously amazing, especially the scene where the “witness” appears. Benten proves to be a really complicated character to have feelings for… especially after seeing the actions she took in this episode.

Already wishing it’s Sunday again, the cliffhanger of this week is really bad. And Kaisei, they better not do anything terrible to her!

Pretty much expecting the Ebisugawas turning in Yaichiro to the Friday Fellows but the part about Soun setting up Souichiro was kinda surprising for me.

You’d think it’d be a form of Tanuki taboo if this came out in general..

“It’s so obvious that Benten is in love with Yasaburo and is joining the Friday Fellows to make sure that he doesn’t get eaten, I don’t know how everyone hasn’t clued in by now.

The fact that she had to kill Yasaburo’s father to protect him is why she cries at the well to Yajiro.”

    Just quoted a guy I don’t know.

Benten is pretty powerful, why take Yasaburo’s father instead of any other tanuki? or just rescue him if he gets captured.

I think she cries out of remorse… not necessarily for her involvement in Soichiro’s but because the pain her choices cause to people that care for her.

I said much earlier about everything hinging on Benten’s story. Ok, I take that back. I was fooled by the way they show her in the show. Really I’m thinking now she is just a mysterious wheel in the cog that makes the drama work :P The other comments I think about her are a sequence of cuss words, I’ll keep those to myself.

Benten reminded me of why Mamiko Noto was so great.
Looking back on it now, I think Kirino originally became popular as a similar closet otaku character.
At least her few other roles are still worthy of a good watch, but I wonder if all the roles are going to newer seiyuu nowadays.
