Uchoten Kazoku 08

Uchouten Kazoku

Ah… this was such a hard episode to watch. They really built Shimogamo Soichiro up to feel like such a great man… so hard to not tear up at the “final” goodbye part with Akadama-sensei. Even I could feel how sad he was the whole time. The amount of emotions he showed for him just says everything, considering the only person he’s gotten all riled up over is Benten-sama.

Speaking of which, it’s really great to see the show managing to carry itself even in the absence of Benten, heh.

Now, I’m seriously curious about Kaisei though. She turned out to be a key point in Soichiro’s death, but we’ve never actually seen her in the flesh for once. The preview for the next episode hints it’s all about her… so, I’m pretty excited for it. Wonder what kind of beauty she is that she almost caused a division in the Shimogamo brothers because Yajiro was infatuated with her.

I was really surprised, and glad, to see Akadama-sensei have and show such emotion during his final goodbye with Soichirou.

I was probably at my breaking point throughout most of the episode, and it didn’t help when Yaichirou started to cry at the end as well. I think I pretty much lost it when that happened.

I also really do hope Yajirou will be able to eventually be able to transform from being a frog and reconcile with his family properly, especially since we now know that their mother had already known or had an idea as to why he hid himself down in the well in the first place.

^Wow, that last paragraph I typed up in my comment felt really painful to read out loud.
