FINAL BOSS キタ━━━━(゚∀゚)━━━━!!!! *ominous music plays*

OreImo

Welp, Kirino.

OreImo

Oh man, she’s really egging it in here.

OreImo

Oh boy, that punch. She had it coming there.

OreImo

It’s really the scariest when the “gentle” ones snap.

OreImo

Yes, Kyousuke, these are women. (Also fuck you, having two women trading blows with each other for you)

OreImo

YEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!

OreImo

Catfight! Catfight! Catfight!

OreImo

*munches on the popcorn*

OreImo

Oh shit, she’s going for it for real now!

OreImo

Manami uses “Cold Hard Truth”!

OreImo

Kyousuke defends with “Fuck The Rules”!

OreImo

Manami uses “Tell Parents”! It’s super effective!

OreImo

Kyousuke counters with “I’ll Do Anything”!

OreImo

Manami unleashes “Final Attack: Confession”!

OreImo

Kyousuke uses his EX Bar and changes form to “Confession Pose: I LOVE MY SISTER”! Kyousuke is now immune to all attacks!

OreImo

And he goes in for the fin– ouch…

OreImo

I know right?

OreImo

R.I.P Manami.

Well, with the final boss out of the way…

OreImo

Ahhh… you guys really did it. Or… did they?

OreImo

Nopeeee! It was all just make-believe for a limited time! Wait, what?!!

OreImo

Good job getting cold feet right at the end, Oreimo!

OreImo

Or maybe not?

FUCKING FINALLY I’M DONE WITH THIS SHOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!!!! This show really went on too long and became too popular for its own good. Not only did it ruin pretty much every single character in this series by the end of it, it didn’t even had the fucking balls to go with the incest end to end it off with a proper resolution.

Instead we get Kyousuke’s reputation and love life totally blown apart, Kirino still getting whatever she wants from him and their whole “relationship” got reset back to “normal”. Or so they claim. Ahahaha seriously, this show… this author…. all the waste of that animation talent and voice acting. The ending is literally the worst one for everyone in a ship for this show… well, glad mine sank already a long time before.

At least the finale sure was entertaining enough, instead of being plain bad like its penultimate episode. I guess they really had to rush for time here even with the leeway of being an “ONA” and cut out everything except for the most relevant parts. I should be thankful they did.

And so, the suffering finally ends! Woohoo! キタ━━゚+.ヽ(≧▽≦)ノ.+゚━━ ッ ! ! !

Now, please don’t have anyone get some silly fucking ideas about a sequel or new material. I don’t think I can give a fucking damn about this franchise anymore now that it’s committed a honorable ending by seppuku.

    An Honourable ending?

An Honourable ending, would’ve been something similar to our much beloved NICE BOAT ending.

    Clean,
    Simple,
with no chance of revival, barring a reboot of course.

This monstrosity of an ending however…

Well, let’s just say that it wouldn’t be far fetched to see a return with a silly mask and rename… how about Fully Siscon, or… perhaps Orange anyone?

Yes, including the Kyosuke x Kirino shippers. Basically, the author and scriptwriters took the copeout route – Attempt to please everyone yet end up with the titular character route and magnificiently alienated the entire fanbase. At least we can applaud them for managing to do that. Still cannot believe I spent 2 hours doing a deconstruction spiel of this earlier in the week.

In one of those rare situations, I will have to admit that I agree with Kurogane on this one though not for the exact same reasons.

Kyousuke should’ve known better to pick Akagi for the BROMANCE route, even I would approve that, yaoi fangirls be happy, and the fans of the girls happy Kyousuke would never have to touch them again.

I’ll watch a sequel, if it involved:
    1. (Vigin) Kyosuke in about a decade getting pissed he has’nt been laid yet (‘caus he turned down all the chicks who liked him) and raping all the girls he turned down.
    2. Ending is he gets beaten to death by preggo yandere Ayase with a small but surprisingly sharp survival knife, toothpase, toothbrush, and a chisel. It has to include some sort of flaying and application of said toothpaste to his, lets just say mucus membranes.
    3. Kyosuke is a construction worker with drinking and smoking problems.
    4. Kirino gets NTR’d away from Kyosuke by a group of guys from the USMC, and becomes that company/Platoon’s toilet.

It’s not really the author’s fault, it’s “…the author suggests pretty clearly that his true intention in the ending was held-back by Dengeki Bunko’s editorial policies…”

Great alternative ending, moridin. I would add this alternative ending too:

*One day, Kyousuke is coming back late at home. He finds his mother waiting for him.
    KYOUSUKE> Mother, what happened?
MOTHER> We discovered everything, Kyou. You and your sister are still in this brocon/siscon thing. And more, Cleaning the bedrooms, we found Kirino’s eroge collection and we finally discovered SHE is the one who started all this mess!
KYOUSUKE> (Nervous) W-Who cares? INCEST FOR THE WIN!!
MOTHER> Incest for the win… really?
KYOUSUKE> Yeah. INCEST FOR THE WIN.
MOTHER> Good to know. Because your father decided you are right, so he grabbed your sister, took her to the bedroom and is r*p*ng her non-stop since the morning. Now she is his b*tch.
    KYOUSUKE> WHAT?!
MOTHER> Ah, but don’t worry. We are not forgetting you. YOUR *SS IS MINE!!
(Mother pulls a very large dildo)

Seriously, i think the autor of this series hates his parents and has some serious issues with his sister. There’s no other explanation.

Having gone through the stages of grief, now at acceptance. Still as a wiseman once said, it has only shown me the result, and not the process! We shall wait for the next Grail Wars just to see the process!

To those that defend the author, let’s put it this way: It’s the equivalent of ending Harry Potter with a battle with Voldemort where they point wands at each other and Voldemort only loses as a result of a backfire of his spell. Instead of an epic battle where they throw unspeakable firepower and level Hogwart’s and cause massive collateral damage.

Nah, nah, gotta have an ending that tweaks a few people when they start reading it, then lands the finishing punches…

    In the future –
We see a house, standard type, the characters appear more mature, obviously.
As the camera zooms in, we hear (typically) Kirino yelling at Kyousuke (who else?)
Inside we see your standard home interior with K&K arguing (about a new game she wants to get, possibly)
She argues ‘the twins are with Mom, so we have until about 4 o’clock this afternoon, whats the problem?’
He says he’s waiting on a call, she says that shouldn’t keep him from going, and he gives in
They spend the day out doing things, joking, arguing, talking about people (Saori, Ayase, whoever)
We find some background on other characters, maybe they meet one, another calls from work and we see what they’re doing
They arrive back at the house with the game and try it out, but it’s getting close to 4pm
Kyousuke asks Kirino if she wants something to drink, and Kirino clicks ‘save’ on the game
They go out to the kitchen. They have a short talk, remembering things in the past
Then, the front door opens and Kuroneko walks in with a little girl in tow…K and K go to meet her.
As Kirino and Kuroneko approach each other, the little girl shouts ‘Daddy’ and runs into Kyousuke’s arms and he picks her up
After finishing the hug with Kirino, Kuroneko moves over and kisses Kyousuke on the cheek, asking how his day was.
Kyousuke looks at Kirino and says ‘the usual’ at which point Kirino punches him in the shoulder (the one not holding the child)
Then Kuroneko asks Kirino if she can stay for dinner,
Kirino says no, (husband’s name here) is cooking dinner for her and the twins, then they’re going to a movie
Kirino then says ‘well, I’ll be seeing you’ , and takes her leave. The door closes.
Kyousuke puts his daughter down and she runs off, while Kuroneko goes into (the kitchen?)
As she walks toward the street, Kirino turns around and looks back at the house with a wistful look on her face, then a smile pops up on her face, ending with a copyright Kirino laugh as she turns to leave
Inside, Kyousuke is by himself still looking at the door with the same look on his face, that turns into a little smile and a chuckle.
Kuroneko sees him looking at the door and the look on her face is understanding and she’s not upset
Camera pulls back from the house and you can see Kirino walking away toward her own home and family (talking on a cell phone of course) while, in the front window, you see Kyousuke’s daughter running and laughing, being caught and picked up by him as Kuroneko yells at him to be careful or she’ll curse him.

    The End

Well, her and Sena. And maybe that blond girl who played opposite Kanako. And Ruri’s sisters. And Mom. Man, I feel bad about Mom and Dad. To have their children passing this under their own noses without them being any wiser… Meh, I guess it’s their own fault for being so typically Anime-Parents-Oblivious.

Anyway, bad series got a bad end.

  26. relentlessflame Said,

I guess I’m one of the few (?) people who weren’t pissed-off by the ending, because I didn’t expect that they’d run off and abandon the world at their age, nor that they’d feel compelled to share their relationship with their parents while they’re still living at home. The fact that it wasn’t an eroge was one of the issues presented. The solution they came up with — to keep acting as siblings while staying together — seemed to me to be a more sane answer to their dilemma, particularly given that they’ve been acting like way more than “normal siblings” for a long time now (as Kuroneko said at the café). Since Kyousuke already knew and had agreed to Kirino’s plan, he could have just told her about it to diffuse her moral arguments if he really considered it a “break up”, or if he wanted to leave himself some “backup plan”. Now, life counselling resumes, and they’ll figure out where to go from there. So, to me anyway, it was a hopeful ending tempered with relatively sane judgement, despite the theatrics that led to that point.

I guess the regret is, as always, that the anime cut/condensed/omitted way too much stuff, and chose to include some things that really could have been excluded to make the core story better. The scene with Kanako is a prime example; because they chose to include her getting close to Kyousuke earlier, they had to make it clear she was rejected so that people wouldn’t say “after the ending, maybe he’ll date Kanako.” In the anime her entire role comes across as pretty pointless. Likewise, honestly, they could have cut a lot of the stuff with Ayase, but they didn’t because she’s a popular character. To me, the strongest aspect of the story was the sort of love triangle between Kirino, Kuroneko, and Kyousuke, and the show worked best when it focused on those aspects. But I think their approach instead was to try to ensure fans of the novel had a chance to see their favourite char

The anime probably wouldn’t get very high marks as a love story alone, but considering its overall variety of themes and the overarching desire to keep people guessing about what happens next, I personally think it succeeded more than it failed. If nothing else, a lot of people are passionate about the franchise and its characters, and a lot of shows never get people this riled up — even if they didn’t appreciate the rather-tempered ending.
