Finally, the showdown between cat and tiger.

Monogatari Series Season Two

Well that ends off NekoShiro. Four and a half weeks of no Araragi finally pays off this week with that GLORIOUS BIG DAMN HEROES entrance by Araragi there. The buildup, the timing, his lines and even his goddamn clothes, it was so damn freaking perfect. Just as if he had finished off saving the world, coming back to find out one of his best friends is in danger and heading out like it’s natural to help out even if he’s all tired and worn down. Wait, that’s basically what happened.

Hanekawa’s character arcs are finally done with this, as she makes to decision from being “real” to “human”, accepting the fact that imperfection is what makes us human. In a respect, it’s really amazing how Hanekawa’s fixation on being “pure” is so strong that she is able to cut off her “ugly” parts so much that it manifests not just one, but two apparitions just from her own.

Ah well, with NekoShiro over, the next one is the most hyped Kabukimonogatari. I’ve tried to not spoil myself much with this one so I sure hope it lives up to the adulation the fans give it!

That just might be the most perfectly executed Big Damn Heroes moment I have ever seen

hanekawa is so much better than slutgahara xD

Sorry, Hanekawa, but no one like ever can go against the Designated Female Protagonist and First Featured Girl Syndrome and prevail.

b…but Hanekawa was supposed to be the first girl. i blame SHAFT for this, just give us kizu already. i still dont get why everyone is so obsessed with senjougahara though, sure she had some great interactions with araragi but she is rarely relevant in the story. seriously out of the 35 episodes already aired, 14 are focus on Hanekawa while gahara only had like 3 or 4. i mean both Hanekawa and shinobu had like 2-3 books dedicated to them. while hitagi is not even the protagonist in her own book….

Aw yeah. 4 and 5 were everything I love about Bakemonogatari. God bless Nise, it was great fun, but it never quite hit these highs. Huge respect to Araragi for having the fortitude to give Hanekawa the answers that she needed to hear.

  6. Dakkar Said,

Lol, the random monster generator Hanekawa is not only the most boring character in the show, on top of that, she doesn’t even come bundled with a cute kohai, so it’s a no-brainer.

Well, with the blank season PV over, we’re finally getting the first episode next week, right?

  7. S_1 Said,

Hmm… I find myself liking Hanekawa so much more she’s overtaken Senjougahara in rankings :/

Oh, apparently the next arc is loli-shotafest.

This season is the season of the goddamn Showstealer! First Touma and now Araragi! And for goodness sake, HE WAS NOT BEAT TO A PULP HERE! That is somewhat scary…

  11. Kurogane Shiroikaze Said,

    August 5, 2013 @ 7:25 am

Come to think of it, this is the first time he isn’t beat up to a pulp in some way…. but then again, he probably already did get beat up already.

Don’t cry, I’ll marry you! <3 Poor girl, if only she was able to say those words during Kizumonogatari, he totally would have married her. :C

    torn cloth, long-ass-sword-wielding-tiger-slaying-lolicon half vampire…
i think that is too OP for a character

  14. Dakkar Said,

It looks like many people are missing the point here. Until the end of this arc, Hanekawa was lacking a personality of her own to an extent that she could hardly be called a human. You might as well go and marry a talking sexdoll once we hit the Chobits’ level of tech.
Moreover, she was pretty much cheating in life by spawning aberrations carrying all the negative things that could get in the way of her proper life. Just think how much better you could do if you were never distracted by anything even slightly unsightly, particularly in society that places propriety and effort above talent. Never lazy, never stressed, always putting the full effort in the right place. Mighty convenient, even more so that save for the tiger, the distortions she was causing were troubling others, not her. It speaks volumes that Meme was scared of her in Kizu.

Who else loves Hanekawa’s image change? Shame she dyes it black.
