Senki Zessho Symphogear

GUNGNIR DATTO!!!

Senki Zessho Symphogear

HAHAHAH they really used the microphones to fight. I was only half-joking last week!

Senki Zessho Symphogear

Ahhh goddamned high heels breaking at the shittiest timings.

Senki Zessho Symphogear

Oh shi– wait.

Senki Zessho Symphogear

Nominating Ogawa-san as the MVP of the episode.

Senki Zessho Symphogear

Fuck yeah, cool new attack!

Senki Zessho Symphogear

Uh oh, reinforcements arrived.

Senki Zessho Symphogear

But that goes both ways!

Senki Zessho Symphogear

Showdown time yeaaaaaaaahhh!

Senki Zessho Symphogear

She mad, mang. Real mad.

Senki Zessho Symphogear

Heh, Black Gungnir gets cut-ins…

Senki Zessho Symphogear

Not good.

Senki Zessho Symphogear

Senki Zessho Symphogear

New combination move! With their swan songs to boot!

Senki Zessho Symphogear

Oh man, even the terminology in Symphogear’s getting closer and closer to Ar Tonelico www

Senki Zessho Symphogear

That’s right, those girls are crazy!

Senki Zessho Symphogear

Totally not obvious he’s the bad guy at all!

I was very worried Symphogear’s production quality was going to hell this episode, but I’m extremely glad my fears didn’t come true. This episode was as amazing as it could be, seriously what’s with this quality upgrade?!

Something I’m quite liking is the pacing of the episode. The show didn’t just jump in straight to the battle parts, but took its time with some exposition and character introduction yet still keeping up the tension of the situation, punctuated with some slightly comedic moments that didn’t ruin it. Kirika and Shirabe are pretty cute btw.

Of course, when the action kicked in, it was amazing with a continuous flow through it (since most of the exposition’s done!), as our heroines squared off with the new antagonists. The cinematography was seriously great through it. And they really made songs for just about everyone, how many character song CD’s are they going to sell this time wwww

Also, I can’t help but to be reminded of Nanoha A’s a lot, watching G’s setup so far. The rival group, angst, collection of some “thing”, the main heroine trying to reason it out with the other side but rebuffed hard, an “ally” that’s manipulating stuff in the background… yeah. I can only hope that this comparison holds true up to the end. A’s remains the best out of the three Nanoha TVA for me (and many others), so I’m really keeping my hopes up for G!

    Nanoha’s over-the-top mahou shoujo combat + Ar Tonelico’s superscience music = Symphogear G?

    I’d fund it.

I believe Hibiki said last season that heels get in the way. This again proves her point.

Oh yeah, I remember that. She just broke the thing off and no more worries.

I laughed a bit inside when Tsubasa’s heels broke. Imagine if that had happened during their concert…

Really liking all the new attacks.

With the one of the central antagonists being a wielder of Gungnir, I get the feeling that Hibiki and Tsubasa are going to be focused on a lot because of the connection there. The end of this episode has me dying to know more about my favorite character and also strengthens my belief that we’ll still be seeing a lot of Hibiki.

It’d be really easy to give the writer’s a lot of credit (perhaps too much) for this episode. I’m very happy to see such a change in Hibiki this early, and you could either argue that it was so sudden because of the length of the show, or because all along she’s been on very thin emotional ice and she knows that what was said to her is true on some level.

I can’t wait to see the showcase fights of the series. They’re probably going to be amazing!

Pretty sure they said Superb Song, Combination Arts (SSCA or S2CA).
Don’t know where the “Spark Combination” came from.

How come Hibiki has a dark and troubled past on this second season? She should be a genki girl all the way!

Still, that Sugita faux-villain already becomes the second coming of Fine… Oh, and I meant the character from Season 1.

    @meganeshounen: Count me in, bro.

@Memento_Mori: Hard to hear it out myself, actually.

How come Hibiki has a dark and troubled past on this second season?

Looks like some shit went down in between S1 and S2. Maybe because of the Moon fragment shower?

well as long as oogawa doesnt sort of end up with tsubasa, since im feeling some possibility there, il consider him one of the best side characters.
