Haiyore! Nyaruko-san W 03

Haiyore! Nyaruko-san W

… and they all lived happily ever after. The End.

Haiyore! Nyaruko-san W

I know, right?

Man, Nyaruko’s really losing the funny fast. Now I just only watch this to see how they try to shoehorn as many references as they can in to one episode.

Still, the episode had a big surprise…

Haiyore! Nyaruko-san W

Turns out Hastur is also Gilgamesh! I guess he really is the “King in Yellow” after all. Only mildly amusing though.

And for the most random, forced reference this week…

Haiyore! Nyaruko-san W

Why would you reference Seikan Hikou without also doing (ノゝ∀・)~キラ☆ as well?!!

Seikan Hikou on my Nyaruko?! Still, what a nonsensical ending for this week.

Actually, Nyaruko is pretty much built on anti-climaxes. Everything you’d THINK would be taken seriously really ends up being less threatening than you’d initially believed.

Oh, and it’s a real strength of the series with how no matter how incredibly INCIDENTAL a dialogue between characters can be, will often actually be foreshadowing. Quite a feat for a goofball referential comedy.

Don’t forget the Railgun “Judgement desu wa” reference.

The trap-thing with Hastur has been talked about a lot, but I thought I caught yet another hint when Mahiro was talking to ‘Goldy’ about ‘his’ transformation. Seems Mahiro made a statement alleging how s(he) looked, emphasis as male, and Hastur tossed off a remark that indicated to me ‘if that’s how you want to think about it, oh well…’ So maybe we have another indication that will foreshadow some future unveiling as it were.

Let us not forget the s-CRY-ed reference where she says “EXTERMINATING LAST BULLET” in episode 2
