Kanna totally wins this week’s Tamako Market.
Less bland episode this week as the focus moves back to the shopping district and its inhabitants, instead of trying to dwell on the non-existent romance drama plot for Tamako’s heart. This episode was really what I was expecting from the show, instead of the singular focus on one character each week (who may or may not be actually interesting!). I mean, why would you introduce such a huge cast to us, but then totally ignore them and go for shitty character development episodes? Really, KyoAni, sure took you long enough!
Anyways, I liked Tamako’s earnest attempts to try and help out her shopping district home when she detects a problem, although I’m sure I wouldn’t be any scared of her haunted house. And luckily for her, she has a great support in the form of Kanna! Truly the best girl of the show so far.
Of course, it was also fun to see the various shopkeepers doing all sorts of hare-brained things to (unintentionally) help out. Still feel weird hearing Yoko Hikasa as an obaasan character though, but I certainly got used to feminine Ono Daisuke! Still not sure who’s better between him and FukuJun though….
Next week, the brown girl finally appears. My di– body is ready KyoAni. Bring it on.
