Hm, the rabbits’ trait of dedication and duty was referenced quite a bit in this episode. Wonder if this has anything to do with why there must be special conditions in order for a rabbit to participate in a Gift Game…

I think Izayoi will not be playing a major role even in this challenge against Perseus. He has a tendency to just overkill anything he takes on. There is more satisfaction in tearing Perseus new assholes.

It’s still entertaining now, especially since Kurousagi is so damned cute, but unless things start getting changed up a bit, it’s gonna get stale and repetitive pretty soon. Every conflict so far has been dealt with so far by having the 3 humans overpowering the opposition.

Izayoi’s supposed to be a combat monster, but he has plenty of brains and wit to back it up with and manipulate the situation while not in a fight. Asuka’s supposed to be the master negotiator, since she can literally talk the enemy into submission, but ep 3 has shown that there’s all sorts of hax ways she can use her command ability, for both combat and utility purposes. Kasukabe’s the only one that’s not a complete all-round asskicker, but given that she absorbs abilities, it’s only a matter of time before she overpowers even the other 2.

There’s literally nothing stopping them from creating a massive empire by smashing all opposition. Other than *rules*, that is. Which is what Kuro Usagi’s supposed to represent, I guess.

Yeah, I agree with your concerns. It’s still acceptable so far given that the series is building up the setting and story but it needs to make the villains less… one-dimensional.

Still the best thing I like about this show is mainly Kuro Usagi and Izayoi’s interactions. I am an easy guy to please, so as long as they don’t screw up the chemistry between those two, I’ll probably be satisfied even with all the shortcomings.

Wow, that guy is channeling Raiser Phoenix-levels of jerkassery… or rather, Dio Brando-levels!

Seriously, he needs to be punched in the gut!

He’s not even 10% as FABULOUS as those two. Don’t even try to compare.

I have read the light novel, and I bring good news. Izayoi will play a major role in the game, and he will completely and methodically annihilate all pride the asshole has, destroy his base, beat the crap out of him, and rescue the loli. My favorite line from Izayoi during the whole event goes something like this: “Use your life to amuse me.”

@ Kurogane: Well, yeah, watching an earnest character and a snarker bounce off each other is always entertaining.

Also, about the villains, considering the name of this series, the leads were probably supposed to be a bunch of dickish people, so they make the villains complete monsters to make the leads seem OK in comparison. However, from what we’ve seen so far, the leads are actually pretty nice fellas, so this is a bit of overkill…? They kinda dropped the idea of them being problem children after the first episode.

Ah well, the sheer unfiltered cuteness of Kuro Usagi can and will overcome the series’ flaws, so, welp.
