Sasami-san@Ganbaranai

… what the hell did I just watch?

>mfw you realize this show is about Japanese gods
>mfw you realize Sasami-san is Amaterasu
>mfw you realize the Yagami sisters are the Imperial Regalia of Japan

Well, whatever it was, our BASED GOD Shinbo looks set to guarantee it’s not boring for sure. Personal favourite scenes of this episode was Sasami-san’s uniform changing scene (dem light SHAFTs), the Yagami sisters battle parts (wonder how many people noted the slight homage to Madoka Magica in there w) and capped with the fucking hilarious ED sung by a totally unmotivated Sasami-san.

Quite impressed as well with how close they kept to the visual tone and style of the original art (that I’ve seen of) and how close it is to hidari’s style. Guess this is what you get when SHAFT doesn’t have to worry about budget anymore. Boy, I can’t wait for next week already!

Why was Onii-chan doing Hare Hare Yukai?
Why did the world become chocolate?
Will the sun god leave her cave and come out to play?

Still waiting on my final episodes of GuP..
Reminds me of the waiting for Shaft’s final episodes of Madoka after ep10.

BTW, how is Sasami-san Amaterasu? Does this mean Onii-chan is Tsukuyomi?

    Actually, Sasami-san isn’t Amaterasu, right?

Goddamn, this show is brilliant, love the subtile hint for the true culptit of this incident. XDD (hint = dance)

Oh SHAFT, what are you doing? This episode was batshit insane… and I loved every second of it. It’s been a really long time I was this perplexed watching a series first episode

    @Doc Astaroth @omo
    Maybe this helps
“Tsurugi, Tama und Kagami refer to the Imperial Regalia:
The sword Kusanagi no tsurugi which was used by the god Susanoo to slay the many-headed serpent Yamata-no-Orochi.
The jewel Yasakani no gatama and the mirror Yata no kagami which were both used to lure the sun goddess Amaterasu out of her cave to illuminate the world again.

Sasami and Kamiomi’s surname is Tsukuyomi. Amaterasu, Susanoo and Tsukuyomi are siblings and the gods ruling over the sun, moon and night, respectively.”

Well, the NEET part seems to be referring to the myth of the Amaterasu hiding in a cave but I guess I might be wrong. Someone just pointed out to me almost all the names seem to point to Japanese mythological figures, so I am just speculating there.

I suppose LN readers can spoil it out here if you visit.

Well, from what I’ve read on Japanese websites, the brother is a vessel for Amaterasu, and the divine powers of the world sometimes just do weird things to make him happy, and then the rest of the divinely-empowered cast have to deal with the ensuing ridiculousness.

Looks like SHAFT has a new supplier and the quality of the merchandise is ‘good’ so I won’t be getting into my own stash to understand this trip of an anime.

Funny enough the first IM I sent to a mate after watching this was
“Just watched the new SHAFT show Sasami san ganbaranai. Wtf did I just watch? o.O”

Anyway I’ll need to watch the next ep of this. To work out what this is all about.

I really wish that later on people would claim Tsurugi as their waifu and spend +$1000 for that headphone just because she wore it. Like the case with Mio’s AKG.
