Chuunibyou demo Koi ga Shitai 10

Chu2koi

What an awkward ai-ai-gasa there…. please don’t tell me I’m the only one who thinks that.

Chu2koi

Here comes the confession time! Oh man, did you have to put in that insert song as well, KyoAni?

Chu2koi

Aahahaha Yuuta’s chuu2 confession. FukuJun why are you so awesome?

Chu2koi

D’awwwwwww this scene… so much d’aaaaaawwwwwwwwww

I’ll say it here, yes it was sappy as hell but did it work? Yes, yes, and goddamned it yes. Especially FukuJun’s performance here. Even that insert song… although it really was quite the overkill putting it there for the extra sappiness.

Of course, just finally confessing doesn’t mean the show has nothing more to work on with… for one, there’s still the school festival happening.

Chu2koi

Nibutani gets an unexpected visit from her past school mates that result in much more embarrassment for her. Indeed, dem mistakes of youth….

Chu2koi

The Chuunibyou couple – Chu²Koi.

Chu2koi

Ahhhhhhhh the most painful part of the episode…. poor Isshiki-kun. Shot down with out even a glimmer of a chance. Kumin-senpai, you heartbreaker you! (On a sidenote, who the fuck allowed her to put a futon so close to a open fire?!)

Chu2koi

Finally, looks like Rikka’s finally willing to face the world properly. I suppose with all the changes and Yuuta’s support, she’s going to come out from under that shell she made… well, we’ll see next week!

I think Rikka’s gonna turn into this heartless, calculating, shrewd woman. Just like real life women!

We may never know what comes next (unless we have a copy of the LN, which may provide hints).

I had to watch this episode in little chunks. It was killing me.

Ha-hah, looks like Makoto just got friendzoned! Idiot Kumin for sleeping even at the bonfire dance…

For this show to be open for sequel, I bet Rikka will be back to her ways towards the end. Except she will fix her papa problem and it will be a more reasonable Chu2byo. Like Chu2byo 2.0 or something.

The novel won’t help you here. KyoAni significantly detracted from the original LN material. Pretty much only kept the character names and some traits in fact.

Everything in the anime so far? KyoAni’s own work.

So everything has been originally by KyoAni? Bravo, KyoAni, bravo once again!

This episode was a total killer for me. I was moved almost to tears a couple of moments (e.g. Rikka’s mother giving bento, the confession scene, …), died a few times of nutbladder explosion (why the hell’s Rikka’s nee-san so moe?) and finally both teared up and died of moe overdose when Rikka sang the 見上げてごらん夜の星を. KyoAni, you did it again. Bravo!

    Also, I forgot — the Rikka’s nee-san x Yuuta’s imouto mini-arc sure is hilarious :-D

This is Kyoani original? I didn’t realise they could do original, they normally follow the source pretty closely.

But the irony is that the LN is published by KyoAni, therefore it’s not a completely original work from the studio!

    That’s… confusing.

Trust me, the LN is pretty damned terrible. I’m glad KyoAni decided to take matters in their own hands.

Best episode ever :) Didn’t know KyoAni diverged from the original LN. Usually, that doesn’t end up being a good thing but in this case, it’s very well done.

I’m glad somebody said it. KyoAni definitely managed to make the silk purse out of the sows ear.

Meh, that girl in the last screenshot is a nobody, a total mob chara.

I’m more interested in Shinka’s old friends, and the history between them. We can see why Dekomori was so enamored with Mori Summer, she must be really awesome back then. Totally different from the “plastic barbie” we have right now.

Part of me have the urge to punch Touka and Rikka’s mother in the face, for some reason I can’t explain properly myself.

Why, because she has a victim aura?

    two things i thought while watching;

So Isshiki is the new Taniguchi…

    and

Where the heck did Kumin get that futon?

Petition GET? Chuunibyou OVA, are we hearing for it? :P

    @Kurogane
Touka kicked Rikka (Not in Chuu2 world, in real life) back in episode 8, which already doesn’t sit well with me.

Also, I know they still care for Rikka and shit, but what Touka did in ep10 strikes me as simply dump their family problem and responsibility onto the shoulder of a complete outsider. And when Yuuta used his own way to care for Rikka and opened her heart, Touka STILL has the guts to tell him that “this is irresponsible” and force him to follow her method instead —— which totally fail to work.

As for Rikka’s mother…I really don’t know. Maybe it really is caused by the “victim aura” you mentioned.

  23. Kurogane Shiroikaze Said,

    December 7, 2012 @ 8:53 pm

Oh that kick. I actually didn’t feel it was that terrible for me, but I’m also Asian so lol.

Well, Touka pushing the responsibility on Yuuta I can agree though, but it seems she knows that she won’t be able to bring back Rikka by herself, since the main target of Rikka’s ‘hatred’ is her and the mother. She’s probably at the end of her rope already.

    Rikka needs Yandere eyes.

  25. Silent Minstrel Said,

I am Asian too, fellow Malaysian, actually. Maybe because I am male and don’t like seeing girl get beaten (whether it is by a male or female doesn’t matter), or maybe I am just biased and root for Rikka not matter what.

If I can wrap my head around a bit, that’s just sibling fighting, so it really isn’t that terrible.

  26. Kurogane Shiroikaze Said,

    December 7, 2012 @ 10:50 pm

I see it as a sibling fight myself, so yeah.
