Girls und Panzer 02

Girls und Panzer

… that sure is one way to make an entrance.

Lol, this show is probably the most trolling of them all this season. First, the school somehow misplaces four tanks in various places including in the forest (okay), middle of a crevice in a cliff (wtf? how?), under a lake and inside a rabbit hutch (seriously?! Seriously?!!). I mean like maaaaaaan what the fuck?

Girls und Panzer

Yeah, this would be a GREAT place to stash a freaking tank

That’s still okay until you get to the part where the clean and repaint the tanks in like an afternoon. After finding them all in pretty bad condition. I mean… sure they are girls but still, going from rust buckets to battle-ready in a few hours? Come. On.

Girls und Panzer

On the bright side, bikinis and tanks are a killer combo

And their instructor is freaking ridiculous. Like, really ridiculous!

Girls und Panzer

How do you even get over 100%?!

Her first freaking day on the job and she tells this bunch of noobs to go have a free-for-all tank battle in the forest with live ammunition… and they don’t even know how to fucking start the tanks up.

Girls und Panzer

But luckily, you can always ask 2ch to help you!

Seriously, this show is just trolling us like mad. But I guess it’s pretty fun in a way! Of course, the most ridiculous thing about this show is definitely where it’s set…

Girls und Panzer

Is this like the Yamato of aircraft carriers?!

Man… now that’s just over the top.

P.S. Random German is definitely better to suffer through than ‘tankery’, but sometimes…

Girls und Panzer

I’m gonna need those German lessons I skipped now…

Plus sublimal advertising for model brands… Just look at the shop… Stacked full of them.

And I’m guessing that’s how Popura looks like when she’s all grown up (in her mind at least)

Is this like the Yamato of aircraft carriers?!

    : That’s no aircraft carrier. It’s a city ship.

Um, should they worry about defending their ship from air attacks?

Mmm. All those buildings look great for trench runs to reactor exhaust ports. They should have their shuttles ready.

Or just cover up those ports with loli-filled tanks.

    Obi-wan: Use the Force, Luke!
Luke: I can’t! There’s too many of them!
Luke: Little girls in bikinis who can’t even start their tank engines.
    Luke: I can’t do it. T.T
    Obi-wan: You LOLICON!

Commie does have a 2nd subtitle track in their episode 2 release, which removes the gratuitous German.

And @meow, I wouldn’t be able to do it to, especially with that Yukari.

Old tanks usually suffer pretty cruel fates anyway. Many Finnish StuGs ended up as sad, rusting target practice hulks, or were sold for scrapping. The ones the girls found were pretty lucky.

    Subtitle track names:
    -No fun allowed

I’m glad they are still doing the random German, makes it a bit more entertaining.

“Commie does have a 2nd subtitle track in their episode 2 release, which removes the gratuitous German”

It only removes some of the german.

Personally I’m waiting two days for Horrible to rip the simulcast so I don’t have to listen to a show in Japanese, read it in english and then be prepared to translate any german that pops up as well.

Hiryuu’s translation doesn’t have the gratuitous German, but they’re a little slower than Commie.

It is pretty bad when you can’t locate the airport on the aircraft carrier. That think’s like 40 city blocks long or something.

Accuracy of 120%? She hit all the targets she was aiming for, plus hitting other targets she should be aiming for with the same shots. (Getting two for one part of the time). When taking on six other tanks she fired five times and killed all six of them. That’s my guess. Running an engine up to 120% for power is one thing…hitting more often than every time is something else.

    wow, that ship is….

over the top is an understatement XD, forget about being Yamato of carriers, you can friggin park like 100+ Yamatos on that thing with room to spare, that thing is super star destroyer sized.

I laughed at the Star Wars comment despite myself.

And yes, I realize there is a second sub track, but I watched the first one for about 10 mins and… jesus, all those hilariously trolling half-german subs.

Still, better than living with the travesty that is “Tankery” I guess.

Hiryuu translates “Sensha dou” as “Tankwando”.

Pretty sure the 120% accuracy comment is continuing the previous conversation lines regarding Saori’s implied question about tank skills helping with picking up guys.

  16. Vaan Said,

    October 19, 2012 @ 2:17 pm

I prefer if they call “Sensha-dou” as it is instead of “Tankwondo”

It’s like translating Taekwondo as “KickBoxingwondo” lol.
