Onii-chan Dakedo Ai Sae Areba Kankei Nai yo ne 01

Ahahahaha… Akiko, why can’t I hate you despite your obviously creepy cocklust for your own older brother?

I’ve actually read a bit of the LN quite a way back (even before the anime announcement) because of the ridiculousness of the title and actually kinda bet it would be animated by this year. Heh, I wish I had made bet on that now…

Anyways! Wow, this kinda went a lot more better than I expected from the anime, since well… I really didn’t have any to begin with! Even for my standards, the LN was mildly amusing, although the story went to bullshit quickly, the humor and Akiko’s mad lust for her brother should carry it quite well.

I’m really most impressed by Ibuki Kido, Akiko’s seiyuu, who is not only YOUNGER than her character… she also just debuted with this role too! The way she brings Akiko’s character to life with all that quick mood changes and idiosyncratic speech patterns really made me wonder if she truly possesses some godly natural talent. I can see why she got the lead role now, lol. If anything, I’m going to stick with this show just to see her performance… to judge whether it is a one-time fluke or I am truly witnessing the rise of a new star.

Production quality is surprisingly good as well, way better than I expected from the PV’s I glanced through. Gotta especially like the following scene.

Goddamn, that gap in the towel! This guys are real pros at this.

And I really just love how lively they animated Akiko.

Especially those gununu’s. Goddamn it, those were awesome! Man… I’m enjoying this show a HELL lot more than I thought I would.

I haven’t read the LN so your statement that the story “went bullshit” intrigued me. Did the comedy dried up at that point?

I was under the impression of this showing going to be interesting, but all of my expectations fell when it revealed itself to be another harem series, and once it did it went on a cliché 101 course. Meh.

Does it end with them getting married and flying off to some unknown place where they consumate their sibling love?

well the LN had me with “oniichan” already and I read quite far into the story but, yeah, this could be a spoiler, so if you really really really care, dont read ahead..

… I got bored after the story turned into the “she is not my real sister” angle, the same bullshit you get everywhere else in japan… banzaiii

    @Di Gi Kazune

I don’t think it would not work… except for Yosuga no Sora.

Heh, yeah. Got a little sick of it when they pulled the “I’m not really her brother” card out. Fuck that shit.

eh? I thought they’re twins? well, I think this was hinted in the first episode with their household talk but maaaaaaan… hope the brocon and newbie seiyuu carries this show despite that shit -_-

There’s absolutely nothing more shitty than fake incest.
It is this show main feature, why take it away?
My little sister show can’t be this generic.

That’s the funny part, they are supposed to be non-blood related fraternal twins. I quit at that bullshit.

When will they stop with this “we’re not blood siblings” crap?

hahah watch yosuga no sora – or better, koi kaze if you really want to watch some perls of “real” shit ^^

At this point I truly would appreciate full-on blooded sibling romance played completely straight. Not subverted, averted, or any such bullshit. It’s not like one generation of incest really makes a difference.

Christ, what did I just wish for?
