Lol fishing arc actually got animated after all hahaha.
… too… much… Asuna cute…
… dammit, that nightwear of hers. And this angle too!!
KIRIIITOOOOOOOO CAN YOU FEEL THE JELLY?!! Man… anime sure loves to put in their PDA’s :P
*pfffftt*… Kirito aren’t you not ashamed to hide behind Asuna like that *snicker*
Lol, OHKO. Asuna-sama kakkoii!!!!! kyaaaaaaa~
Yes, this is the highlight of the fishing arc… Asuna’s heartfelt declaration of the depths of her love towards Kirito. It had quite a bit of significance in the original novel, but the anime did incorporate a few things that diminish that impact. Still… I cried ;_;
Kirito…. (and lol at Asuna sitting on Heathcliff’s table like that)
Goddamnit, this episode is making me cry so much.
Flirting before the boss fight… oh c’mon you two. No wonder the rest of the party looks at them all annoyed w
A-1.. certainly did a good job with The Skull Reaper. Thing seriously looks as powerful as it is scary.
Even crazy-grinder-almost-to-max-level Kirito has problems with the damn thing. Luckily, he has Asuna!
Fuck… cliffhanger’ed. 6 MORE DAYS DAMMIT. EVERY SINGLE WEEK, DAMMIT.
Ahhh this week’s SAO really gave me a surprise when the preview indicated they were going to do the fishing chapter, which turns out to be only the first half of this episode. Makes sense, since it’s not really that long. Still, it’s a required part of the story as it segues to the 75th Floor boss fight.
In the original novel, this part was also where we actually get to know how Asuna fell in love with Kirito at first, which was never really told before then, so she felt very much like a Mary Sue type of character. Of course, the anime took a different route and put in those parts already, so it’s not as significant as it is but still, it packed enough emotional punch when she told Nishida how she felt about Kirito. Kirito’s probably hearing that for the first time too, btw. Man that guy’s really lucky dohohoho.
The bigger surprise for me was how fast they went straight to the 75th floor boss fight, since that wasn’t even hinted in the preview, but I guess the episode title did prominently hint on that…
As usual, a few details have been left out, for instance, the explanation why the boss is suddenly so powerful that even Kirito, who solo’ed the 74th Floor’s boss couldn’t do much to it. In SAO, the bosses at the “quarter” floors (25, 50) were significantly much more powerful than the bosses in the interleaving floors, which is apparently part of the game’s design. I guess the easy way to see it would be that the 75th Floor’s boss is probably on par with the 90’s floor bosses, which is why the death toll is pretty high, even though the party is supposed to be some of the highest levelled players of the game.
Ah, and also surprisingly A-1 explained the part where the players real bodies “probably” got moved to the hospital part finally, although with some changes to it. Don’t know why they decided to do that, I guess it’s much more realistic that way? Originally, the move happened not long after the announcement by Kayaba at the start, but I guess it’s not too logical to expect hospitals around Japan to suddenly accommodate 10,000 patients that require special equipment (for the NervGear) and rooms for everyone. Well, at least they’ve explained that part to us now!
And now… the wait shall begin.
