Sword Art Online

Only wise course of action after stumbling in to Baphomet the boss.

Sword Art Online

Dat Asuna stare.

Sword Art Online

Oh god dere-dere Asuna HNNNNGGGGGGGHH

Sword Art Online

Lol, Klein BSOD’ed to seeing Asuna with Kirito.

Sword Art Online

“You might be a bro, but she’s my ‘ho!” wwwwwwww

Sword Art Online

Seriously, Klein’s such a bro though. And Asuna’s smile nearly caused a mini heart attack for me. Every. Single. Time.

Sword Art Online

Derp, those noobs rushing at the boss without help and planning.

Sword Art Online

Nooooooooooo Asunaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!

Sword Art Online

Sword Art Online

Awesome Kirito is awesome.

Sword Art Online

Hahaha fuck yes, solo-killing the boss with that crazy combo skill. Thus, the legend begins here…

Sword Art Online

Still, gotta say that was a pretty fucking close call there, Kirito. One more second and he would be…. :(

Sword Art Online

You will never get hugged by a crying Asuna saddestfroginaincrad.jpg

Sword Art Online

Oh, still have the time for jokes eh, Kirito.

Sword Art Online

D’aaaaaaaaaaawwwwww 。゚(゚´Д`゚)゚。

Sword Art Online

Ahahahaha, Liz got herself some deban this week. DAT SMIRK.

Sword Art Online

And Heathcliff finally appears in person!

Sword Art Online

Ohohohoho, a duel for Asuna right off the bat.

Sword Art Online

Hell yeah, Kirito!

Ahhh, this episode was the most exciting one since episode 2, with all that Asuna and Kirito solo-one-shotting the boss with his secret Dual Blades skill. Man, I lol’ed when they showed his HP bar at the end, seriously makes you think he gets quite crazy at times. Well, it was either the boss or them, those silly Army guys rushing in without any planning and only with their pride. Pretty much following very close to the original material too, so no complaints about that from me this week.

Of course, can’t forget to give kudos to the sound work by Kajiura for this episode too. Sure it’s the same BGM from episode 2, but for me, that track is pretty much the ‘signature’ track for SAO now so I’m glad to hear it every time. The “tension” tracks were done quite well too, in the buildup to Kirito’s awesomeness.

About 45% in to the main story now, the next episode should be even better as Kirito and Heathcliff face off in a pretty epic duel. Hmm… I wonder if they’ll have enough time for Yui’s arc and the last side-story though, feels like SAO arc might just go over the 1-cour count at this pace. Anyways, glad to see A-1 not dropping the ball on the important parts of the show!

SAO’s end card this week

Well I don’t have much of a purpose of watching SAO now after this episode. GJ A-1 Pictures for delivering a kick ass battle. The end card is one hell of a spoiler though.

I think I actually teared up with joy from all the excitement during this episode.
This whole episode was really well done. The fight scenes were just great. I like how they even included some flashbacks to add more emotion to the scene.

To the minor details, I would have liked it if they didn’t change the scene with Kirito grabbing Asuna’s finger to taste the soy sauce. I also felt that the conversation with Egil after the battle was too short; they could’ve kept more of the original dialogue in there such as Kirito joking how he should move to some rural village to avoid the attention and Egil telling him that it’s alright to be famous for once.

As far as timing, I’m wondering the exact opposite–MAL lists SAO as running 25 episodes, and every time I try to map out the rest of the series content, I come up short by at least one or two episodes. Maybe I’m overestimating the brevity of some of the other arcs/stories, but I’m curious how they’ll pace out the second cour. I don’t think there’s enough time for the content from books 3 and 4, but that implies they’ll be dragging things out a bit more for the rest of the run. That said, I wouldn’t turn down a ramen shop episode…

Holy crap this was awesome I had to change pants a couple of times while watching this episode such awesomeness Kirito is the boss and that Asuna … I’ve finally seen her true charms. Klein such a bro T_T

  5. relentlessflame Said,

For what it’s worth, SAO is a two-cour show (25 episodes on TV, possibly a bonus on the BDs/DVDs). Looks like this particular arc will go to Episode 13 or so.

I wonder if they would cover the second game on this anime by the time SAO the game is done for?

Still, I have a hunch that Heathcliff is actually Kayaba in disguise…

best dual blade moment since Lodoss…

Awesome. Besides Dual Blades being awesome, which I knew it would be from the beginning, even Kirito’s one-handed blocks and parries managed to rock my world. Diverting that massive hunk of iron so it’d miss Asuna by just that much was crazy.

Awesome kickass kirito dual blades action, cuteness of asuna, big bro klein, worth the whole week waiting for this. now one more week to more awesome duel between the 2 unique skill user, and the crimson killing intent and what happened after it.

i think they definately will go all the way into fairy dance if this is gona be a 2 cour show. aincrad arc will probably go into total of 12 given the pace of how things are going now, though i wish it to be longer.

yes, would have love to see kirito grab on asuna’s fingers on the soy sauce part. would have been quite a cute scene. also not forgetting egil wanted to hold a conference about the dual blades. leave the ticketing and venue to me.

his parry skill is awesome. must be at max profeciency

also note, gleam eyes has the skill unarmed combat – throwing punches and ??grabbing enemy’s sword with bare hand !?

Episode 12 subtitle is “Yui no Kokoro” plus they already decided on Itou Kanae as Yui so I’m sure Yui’s arc will be covered. Didn’t read the novel so I’m not sure if that seems to be too early or what.

An absolutely brilliant episode in my opinion. The action scenes were done beautifully and Asuna was done d’aww-ingly. The bit where she hugged him at the end made me HNNNGH so hard. Also, Kirito again being showcased as a badass again though to solo a boss was beyond what I expected. Anyway, I can’t wait for next week’s episode! (Even though I have probably the most important exams of my life next week ;_;)

Pretty much what I was waiting for for the past 2 months since I read the LN, and it (more or less) delivered. Finally :D It’s somehow more tense in the book since you read Kirito’s thoughts, while here it just seems like a normal fight scene and you don’t realise how much damage he takes, but together with the music it’s pretty good.

Also yes delicious Asuna. She hugged him for like what, 5 minutes? allmyjelly.jpg

Them skipping the finger licking part was lame. And even if he was hugged, he didn’t even get a lap pillow.

I mean, you miss the stuff from the 4koma

    – Looks like I won’t be able to wash this hand

    – Kirito licked my hand just now…
    – If you didn’t wear armor just now it would be perfect

Whoa, I hadn’t noticed the series was going to be 2-cour. With how things were generally panning out to fit into 13 episodes I’d figured they’d end the series on a pseudo cliffhanger they could leave or pick up on. Wasn’t expecting room for them to move into Fairy Dance after this.

Hey, waitasec, that wasn’t in the novels at all.

The fight was awesome, reminded me of the many times the tank died and I had to keep the boss with Evasion…

End of the much more times when the boss simply turned and flattened me….

If I didn’t know how the things are going to end, I could have mistaken that Lt.Colonel for Rider during the speech he gave in the rest zone…

And it looks like making episodes that consist of fighting and moe Asuna is all that show needs to sell well.

Would’ve preferred duel-wielding maces instead of swords, but it is called Sword Arts Online I guess.

Should’ve specced in serenity w/ ascension rune and had some LOH.
