Hyouka 18

Hyouka

Protip: If Houtarou wants to do something, it’s inevitably something bloody boring.

Sorry KyoAni defenders, character development does not excuse boredom.

I don’t think there has been any character development for anyone except Mayaka for the last 10 episodes or so.

But hey, it’s a magic word, just like “deconstruction”, which I predict at least three commenters are going to mention on this thread.

Unable to comprehend the subtleties of Eru’s cuteness in this episode. Shallow!

    @Totali

I only rank Eru 3 liters.

So the teacher smiled, because he assumed someone might have died? They did die in the end, but did he know them?

I don’t think you watched the episode properly…

It’s not character development without either a blush or a BSOD.

I have issues with watching Hyouka as if it should need to prove itself every week, but that doesn’t change the fact that it was a dull episode.

Not as bad as “Chitanda gets mad, Houtaro explains why”, but then again, nothing could possibly be.

So the teacher smiled, because the Helicoter flies, because it was possible to rescue the missing ppl, since they couldn’t the day before because the stormy night? But then I don’t see any reason, why Houtaro hoped, his thoughts were wrong…

I wonder if that English teacher is still alive after that accident three years ago?

Anyway, I’m glad that Houtarou didn’t go “curious” all the way!

… was this episode so boring that people are overanalysing things? Wrongly even.

I’m almost tempted to watch it again to see if I was just dreaming half the episode or something.

Those were the only two possibilities I could think of, now I’m curious, lol xD
Maybe rewatch this episode as a bedtimestory, boredom is the best friend to fall asleep, but I guess I won’t get any new ideas that way.

ok, I rewatched this episode now, but as I thought, I still got the same impression as before, except, Ogi knew the stranded people.
So I’m curious, why Oreki hoped he wouldn’t be right about his assumption in 12:30.

OMG, I guess a bag of rice fell over in China, I hope I’m wrong…

sry for triplepost, ofc I mean the impression of the teacher being releaved, helicopters are able to fly to rescue/find the stranded people.

Is it just me or are they making Asuna looks like a typical tsundere? I’m pretty sure that in the LN Asuna admited that she liked someone but was sitll one-sided.

I was in deconstruction a few times.

Worked for a hospital that had bought an older hospital to remodel. Knocked out foot thick concrete and tile walls to be replaced with steel 2x4s and sheetrock. Took four of us two weeks of swinging sledgehammers to get 3000 square feet of space ready for rebuild.

    It really develops character.

Working for the government was way easier.

Also, this episode was rather dull, but I’m like milk. The commenter, not the drink.
