Sword Art Online

HNNNNGHHH Silica-chan kawaii yo Silica-chan~

Sword Art Online

OH LOL, these two from the first episode are still together. Guess they must’ve gotten along a lot more than they expected, ahahaha.

Sword Art Online

Pina ;_;

Sword Art Online

God, what a giant bitch she is, even though she’s one of the rare hawt female players.

Sword Art Online

Heh, finally found time to explain that mechanic to the viewers. BTW, if you (green) attack an orange or red player the system won’t change your cursor to those colors. Guess Kayaba intended the players to self-police. Hmmm I wonder if the anime will do the “Laughing Coffin” parts.

Sword Art Online

Embarrassed Silica-chan ( ´∀`)

Sword Art Online

Oh god, these two shots are just so sinful. Lucky she realized quickly enough or… :P

Sword Art Online

Dammit, Kirito. You must’ve been keeping those equipment because of that look right?! Exposed shoulders, skirt, zettai ryouiki and red color scheme…. just waiting for the right owner to come along, eh? Also that getup really reminds me of the RO female High Priest, albeit Silica plays a totally different class.

Sword Art Online

Seriously, that zettai ryouki. (´ー`)

Sword Art Online

Also damn you, floor 47th’s monster designer.

Sword Art Online

( ゚∀゚)アハハ八八ノヽノヽノヽノ \ / \/ \ Kirito’s reaction.

Sword Art Online

Embarrassed Silica-chan again ( ´∀`)

Sword Art Online

Yeah powerlevelling ヽ(゚∀゚)ノ

Sword Art Online

Even more embarrassed Silica-chan~~ … OH GOD WHAT AM I DOING?

Sword Art Online

Here comes the bitch again.

Sword Art Online

Awww fuck yeah badass Kiritanker sure showed her. Bitch picked on the wrong guy this time.

Sword Art Online

D’aaaaawww Silica~

Well, I knew that even A-1 couldn’t really screw up this episode since it’s basically short and sweet. Yes, I don’t really have any complaints on how this episode went on, they practically kept everything from the original material in, and I liked their original additions too. Plus, Kirito’s badass was given the treatment it deserves, awww yeah. Picking a fight vs an opponent almost double your levels… gg kthx wp. And that regen is so hax too lolol. Bear in mind Kirito’s supposed to be an AGI/STR build too… plus he doesn’t even use shields hahaha.

Next week’s episode is “Murder Case in the Area”, which I must say surprised me quite a bit, but it does make sense. This will actually be the “official” first meeting between Asuna and Kirito, or in the anime’s case, their reunion for the first time since Floor 1. The doujin material Reki puts out actually extends Asuna and Kirito’s Floor 1 story to Floors 2 and 3 at least, but I guess that isn’t really canon enough for the anime. We’ll also be meeting Heathcliff for the first time too, so it’s gonna be a fun episode.

.. though I wonder how are they going to keep the ‘mystery’ going. Plus… the ramen stall part :P.

P.S. Oops almost forgot about this week’s SAO end card!

They better not rush the Murder episode, some of the exchange between Kirito and Asuna are pretty darn funny

The color mechanic reminds me eve online which is also player policed for the most part and that works SOOO well. I wonder if i would enjoy watching SOL as much if i havent played so much MMOs.

Also a character with free pet heals dress like a female high priest… they should have make it a female alchy/creator instead.

The color scheme started I think in UO, but well… it didn’t work so well there….

And hope they do Murder well, too! (Especially the first scene)

Because of what Kirito said to that bitch, I come to like that guy. He’s ranking near Akatsuki from Hagure Yusha for being heroes who don’t mind getting dirty and bloody.

Shows that have their character wear the same clothes all season long should take note.
So, I guess when they’re done with the Murder Case, they are going to introduce Lisbet.

BTW, Battle Heal skill is not all that common. You have to take tons of damage to improve it, that is…suffering.

    HHHNNNNNNNGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHH.
If I were a player in game, I’d have to be taken to hospital inside the MMO cus of nutbladder failure. So I’d be inside a hospital in an MMO played inside a hospital.
    Hospitalception.

Ah, about those two guys from episode one: Called it. And moreover, they’re still perverts! I feel a certain kinship with them, and no doubt.

Kirito, goddamn what a beast. “I could stand here for hours.” He makes real MMO players look like such little shits going “LOL u mad noob?”

Kirito was such a brilliant badass this episode. I enjoyed this episode immensely though eagerly waiting for more fights/Asuna. Hopefully get one or the other (or both!) soon.

You could download the raws for the endcards? I know Crunchyroll doesn’t get them. It’s a bit of a shame.

And yes, Kirito is a crazy AGI tanker lolol.

  13. dmonhiro Said,

The raws from ATX are the only ones where you can always get the endcards from. The ones from MX are covered by sponsor messages.

What is the name of the boots Kirito is using? Is it a rare boot?

  15. moridin84 Said,

    Hmm,

I’m guess this is 12 episodes and episodes 9-12 will be the rest of volume 1, basically level 74 and up. So that means there’s basically 3 more episodes to cover any side stories?

There seems to be an awful lot of side stories…

  16. Kurogane Shiroikaze Said,

    July 30, 2012 @ 7:07 am

No one saw Kirito’s inventory window this week, so the name of his boots will forever remain a mystery.

And SAO has been announced for 2-cours, so ostensibly they have a lot of leeway in adapting stuff. Murder Case in the Area should probably be followed by Warmth of the Heart then swing back to main story for a bit, then break for Yui’s intro and then back to main story. That’s the most likely way to do it.

If Kirito is meeting Heathcliff early on next episode, then we’ll finally get a hint of what’s to come regarding SAO’s Unique Skill system… Silly invulnerable Holy Sword and…

OK, A-1 you are forgiven. The story makes more sense now. :)

  19. Bambi Said,

    July 30, 2012 @ 9:12 am

@moridin84: as Kurogane said, SAO will have 25 episodes and it’s almost clear (from pace and presence of Lyfa in cast list) that they will animate faeries as well.

About ‘Murder Case in the Area’, I only hope that they will split it in 2 episodes, it simply will not fit in one …

Nobody knows what Kirito’s boots are called, but it’s clear to me that he got those spurs specifically so they look totally badass when he does dash-skills.

  23. Kurogane Shiroikaze Said,

    July 30, 2012 @ 6:10 pm

Well that’s because DotA’s using the silly Diablo-style stats where “Armor” is actually damage reduced by the value calculated based on your AGI because higher AGI means you can dodge the attacks better.

I think the JRPG style is that armor works on percentages? Well, I think that’s the RO-style, which certainly seems to be an influence. They never really did explain the armor system properly.

    Anyways, those spurs are awesome.

  24. What? Said,

Life Regen is imba. Nerf Life regen.

    Nerf Monks.

  25. Dakkar Said,

    July 30, 2012 @ 10:12 pm

    @Kuro
The original culprit might be D&D. There, the damage reduction is usually supernatural, while armor provides armor bonus and dexterity provides dodge bonus to armor class. So, you either entirely escape the attack due to it being blocked by the armor or dodged thanks to your reflexes, or take the full damage. There are many nuances, of course, but that’s not the point.

Here, Kirito was clearly taking hits/receiving full damage, it’s just that his number of hit points and the rate at which he regenerated them was too much for orange-kuns to handle. Proper tanks shouldn’t actually take much damage during the fight by using heavy armor/shields, and damage dealers shouldn’t get attacked at all while in a party, so battle heal is pretty much an exclusive skill of suicidal masochists like Kirito…

  26. uhsieh Said,

    July 31, 2012 @ 12:14 am

Well… if the formular from ALO could be used in SAO:

“ALO’s attack formula is not complicated. It depends on four things: Power of the weapon itself, where on the opponent’s body the attack hits, attack speed, and the armor worn by the opponent. On this occasion, the attack power of weapon was almost the lowest, while the Salamander’s armor was really quite high level. The strength of his attacks came from the boy’s accuracy and overwhelming speed.”
    –Baka-tsuki, ALO Chapter 2

I’m thinking it’s more similar to Diablo than D&D (where armor give MISS rates), and armor reduces damage. Still, not sure what AGI does in SAO (unless it’s like in GGO, where it determines ROF and dodging and travel speed).
