Fate/Zero 21

Fate/Zero

… are you happy now Kariya?

Maaan, that bike chase scene with Saber really must’ve took up most of the budget of this episode. It was pretty impressive to watch. I still couldn’t believe Rider was naive enough to actually challenge Saber’s Excalibur head-on, but that’s a mark of a real man if he takes no compromises!

He wanted to change Saber’s point of view, but only has one more shot at using Ionian Hetairoi, so he really had no other weapons at his arsenal and admits he failed at convincing Saber.
No comment on Kirei’s wine tasting? >D

As per the dialogue she took a lot longer to charge it up in the river battle, he thought he had good reason to believe he could close and striker her before she could use it.

To be fair, she was saying all that insensitive nonsense in anger, and Kariya, addled as he is by all the worms and injury, wasn’t explaining himself very well either, jumping straight to meeting her anger with his own rage. Zouken’s the one at fault here.

Taking Sakura away from her mother? Zouken’s fault. Messing Sakura up? Zouken again. Giving Kariya an option he has to take? Yep, Zouken. Shinji regularly raping Sakura? Zouken instigated it.

    It’s always Zouken’s fault.

No matter how absurdly convoluted, impractical and hilariously contrived the dramatic beats of Fate/Zero are, this show does have one thing going for it that not even its harshest critics can deny, and that is that it is really, really expensive.

It all goes down much easier upon accepting that everyone involved is just completely insane.

WaveRider is the greatest superhero duo. They need their own OVA.

Zouken might be at fault for starting this mess with Rin and Sakura, but it is Tokiomi’s and Aoi’s responsibility to protect their own children, instead of tossing one away like an unwanted dog, and training the other to become a bloodhound. Kariya was the only one who cared and protected them, and it makes all the sense in the world, that he will snap when their mother accuses him of the opposite.

I’d already read that scene in the novel, but even so.
    Holy shit, Kirei. Holy shit.
