Fate/Zero 14

Aww yeah F-15-chan! wwwwwww

Well, after three months, it’s the return of Fate/Zero Sundays yet again and kicking it off is part one of the epic battle of Mion River. ufotable definitely spent a lot on the CG this episode, but it still was punctuated by moments of talking quite a bit.

This episode also really shows how far gone Tokiomi is. When he started to REGRET having Sakura and justifying giving her away to the Matou family, I really wanted to root for Kariya to give him his just desserts right there and then. Then there’s also Ryuunosuke’s death scene too. I’ll stop short of calling it great or whatever the shills are saying about it, but he definitely had some fitting last words for himself. Anyways, one Master down, six more to go.

Might as well add, new OP is pretty good but did they have to put in Shark Week Irisviel in it? New ED was a lot better than I expected for a newbie, but it wasn’t a really challenging type of song anyways. Liked how the new ED sequence is all about Irisviel’s past and meeting with Kiritsugu too.

How do I do a spoiler again?
Sorry about the 2 post above, please eliminate them.
Anyway, I will just go w/o spoil anything….
Finally after 3 months of waiting, this is what I have been really waiting for!!!! Ufotable did a good job on the CG. I already got the full version of the OP, Kalafina and Yuki Kajiuradid an awesome job on this!
I wonder if at the end of this season, we will get to see some beginning of the 5th war.

    Oh, it works. Good…

Well… Tokiomi hating, Kariya cheering. What would Nasu and Butch say…? Oh yeah, they would say…

Bittersweet ED. Showing Iri and Kiritsugu’s past together was heartwarming and -breaking at the same time.

I think the BD came with Audio dramas where they portray Kiritsugu and Iri meeting.

Exactly. About half of the pictures in the ED were scenes from the Drama CD that came along with the Blu-ray box. That’s kinda nice if you ask me. UTW translated these tracks, iirc.

Oh btw, Kuro, could you delete me first comment, please?

Sad ending in the end. But most tearjerking of manly tears is when Show ▼

Actually, it all boils down to whether Tokiomi knew about the details of Matou family’s magic or not. If he didn’t, his reasoning is perfectly sound – he’s got two equally capable daughters with incredible talent, yet only one of them can be raised as a proper magus by his own family. The potential of the other one would have been wasted, what’s more, she were likely to become a target for other magi. Having an established family adopt her and let her inherit their magic sounds like a great deal unless you start digging deeper, and considering how secretive magi are about their secrets, I wonder how much Tokiomi really knew about Matou family.

The only scene from F/SN you’ll see in F/Z is of Shirou talking to his “dad” while the two of them are lounging around the deck in his house.

An ED sequence all about Irisviel’s past and meeting with Kiritsugu?

Someone just triggered a death flag

That was a sweet episode to start off. Pretty action packed and Gil was so fabulous (as usual). New OP (song) Irisviel ED (video…or rather pictures) was good :3

Irisviel is slated to die. Or become the Dress of whatchamacallit. Like mother, like daughter.

It was said in the first episode and reiterated multiple times now, that completing the grail would cost Irisviel her life. In the first season, with the death of Assassin, the resulting mana pouring into her has already started to cripple her. As more servants are defeated, she will slowly become more grail than person.

Personally would’ve preferred that they use the old ED when the story is still about servants out-badassing each other and show the current ED only in the last few episodes where they Show ▼

, just deals more damage to emotion.
