Looking at your twitter:
“Oh god, how many times are they going to sing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star this week”
Lol! I think it’s part of the family motif of the series together with the bunny. If you notice, the bunny is almost everywhere and the bunny is usually the representation of family. Twinkle little star have always been sung by the family together in this show so it must be another part to emphasize the family. I’m guess you’re paying attention too much to Raika and missed all that right? Hahaha!
The enjoyment of watching every single episode is inversely proportional to the amount of Sora’s screen time and directly proportional to the amount of Raika’s screen time. Considering the amount of ear-rape that the engrish song was, I can only hope not to drop the series with so few episodes left.
And seriously, even if the show tries to sell itself as family themed, there’s a little test – would you watch it with you family?
Sounds like you hate Sora a lot or something. Do you?
Watching it with your family? Perhaps with siblings but with parents that might be a bit iffy. Actually perhaps not. It’s trying to satisfy the “family” part and the “fanservice” part so that is what it ends up as.
Sora can be quite annoying while being fairly bland. There’s just nothing that really stands out about her. Yes, she tries her best and fairs decently for a sheltered 14 years old, and her silly crush on her kind uncle is also fairly normal for a 14 years old. The only problem is that watching her antics ranges from being boring to being irritating, unless you’re a fan of 14 years old’s angst. I know I’m not. Well, that’s what you get for getting tricked by the first episode…
As for the fanservice, it can be done in different ways. With this show, I way too often get the feeling that the premise is just a disguise for a lolicon-service. It’s not that simple, of course, but this show really has to decide what it’s aiming for.
Ah I see what you mean. The good thing is that she’s at least much tamer compared to most 14 year olds (my god they’re wild and complains about the most stupid things). I just mainly thought you hated her or something since it sounds pretty harsh what you said. Other than that I can agree with you on this. It’s just that I mainly did not find her irritating and that’s probably because I was comparing her to many other teens that I met and she’s a lot better than they are.
About the fanservice, I don’t agree with you. From what I see, they know what they are aiming for. If you take a look at the BD version, there’s really not of a difference compared to the aired version. Many lolicons were complaining that the “upgrade” is pretty much not there. It’s just funny when I think about it because when the 1st ep was aired, people were complaining that this show was pedo-trash and stuff. Now I wonder what they think lol.
Perhaps me. I’m a greedy bastard and I desire more if I was to marry soneone hahaha. But she still is awesome… I don’t know…
Yeah she is probably a very good gamer too if the eyecatch is true. Or Yuuta just suck very badly and can probably get own by anyone. Not sure how good Hina is but she did beat Yuuta too haha.
Kuro: Got caught by spam filter, removed later comment since it’s not valid anymore.
I prefer to minimize my exposure to children, so my tolerance level is not that high, I suppose…
As for the fanservice… Come on, Miu is ten years old elementary school kid. Now, how does the show present her? Actually, even all the panty shots aside, often times she comes out as more mature than Sora, which really begs the question why…
Well Miu was meant to be more mature than her own age. I don’t think she was meant to be more mature than Sora but they might have problems depicting that. At least from the manga (and spoilers from novel readers) that Miu’s mature behaviors is what sort of caused problems for her later on. So it’s not for fan service sake but an actual topic to delve upon. Unfortunately I highly doubt the show is going to cover that considering the pace.
I keep forgettting Raika was voiced by Hocchan. Sometimes I feel that it’s a “waste” because we’re not getting the full potential of Hocchan but it’s not really a problem since she still does a very good job as Raika. I guess I’m just used to her wide emotions range.
