Senki Zessho Symphogear 04

Senki Zessho Symphogear

Nightmare Fuel much?

Well, Symphogear continues to impress me with how far it will go towards being serious and gory. It’s only the fourth episode and one of the main leads has used up her final weapon and lies almost dead… and all she managed to do was to deal a pretty damaging blow towards the bad guy.

Guess this should finally spur Hibiki in to actually taking shit seriously now that she’s the only Symphogear left. Though I’m not too sure how serious is she seeing this…

Whoa, did Tsubasa really die? I thought she was a main character. I’m not too interested in seeing a show with just Hibiki.

No, she’s still alive. Just in a critical condition from overloading her power.

No, Tsubasa isn’t dead, quite. She even failed at killing herself.

For all that, I was almost certain they were going to kill her. In any other show, no way, but this one? Quite plausible.

And it was so hard not to lead with that image, but ah well. I knew a bunch of other people would.

I actually wanted to put in a period joke in the post… but refrained.

I dropped this show at episode 2, and after reading around a bit, I thought Tsubasa died as well.

Well I’m only interested after seeing that picture of her face having a per- I mean crying blood.

I think that Kanade coughing up half her blood would be better for that joke.

I can’t get over how its a blatant reference to Sayaka’s last words.

    @Fencedude

    Agreed… It’s a combination of Sayaka’s faces from Eps. 7 and 8!

    Yup, being Symphogear is suffering…

Pretty heavy episode here and now Hibiki is getting serious. However, her singing still needs work.

Madoka of the year? I wouldn’t really put my bets on this show then…

Haha this show doesn’t take itself seriously enough to be comparable to Madoka. Well at least from what I saw during the first episode. The whole flashy super attacks and singing battles made me laugh out loud, even when people were being killed. The whole “Noise” enemies are hilarious in concept and stupid in practice. I believe it’s done on purpose though. All of that drama and etc had absolutely no effect on me due to the absurdity of the concept/situation. I seriously hope this show didn’t expect anyone to feel for the characters with the way they handled it. Then again, I’m not a good judge since I’ve only seen the first episode.

Well at least the music is good. You can’t go wrong with Mizuki Nana.

meh it feels more like this show is heavily influenced by madoka magica. then again, who wouldnt :p
either way, im still uncertain about this. but since yuri is present il still stick to it at the very end.

@MR.KLAC “any bets this will be madoka of this year?”

There won’t be another Madoka for another decade.
And honestly, this show is close to the polar opposite of Madoka…
