Senki Zessho Symphogear 03

Senki Zessho Symphogear

What a waste of shoes. Damn lesbians.

Holy shit, I did not expect him to have that kind of power considering he’s just been sitting on his ass, giving orders quite comfortably for the last two weeks. But it seems he isn’t the commander of that squad for nothing. Giant fucking sword-shoe streaming down from the sky, and he punches it away at the cost of some good shoes? If that ain’t a certification of badass, what is?!

Besides, damn lesbians shouldn’t be using giant ass shoe swords to fight.

Yep, a good old-fashioned bitch slap is much, MUCH better.

Back to a more serious note, Symphogear is actually doing a lot better than I expect, even with all the drama about Tsubasa and Hibiki. The story is going in a lot of interesting ways, all at the same time. It makes things interesting when they move from Tsubasa PMS’ing over Hibiki to talking about “those damn Americans trying to cause a diplomatic storm” tack and talking about other types of relics around the world. Only problem would be that there’s still quite fair bit of jargon getting thrown around, and even with subs, I got hard-pressed to keep track of what damn topic they are talking about at times.

Sadly it seems that the regular animation took quite a hit this week; there was a particularly hilarious segment mid-way through the episode where Tsubasa and her manager were animated as if they were puppet show cutouts. It wasn’t a very important part, but it’s absolutely comical to watch. On the other hand, the action scenes sure made up for it. Hibiki going in to her berserker mode at the end of the episode was great to watch since it showed that she could get mad after all.

Of course, the show continues to know how to do pacing by ending off with another cliffhanger:

Finally, some sex appeal in the show!

    Being Miku is suffering ;_;

    If they have to cheap out on something to give us scenes like Hibiki going all RIP AND TEAR, well, Tsubasa walking down the hall is as good as anything else. And if Guardian Enzo is right about the timeschedule this show is being made on, I don’t really have the heart in me to get too upset.

    Genjurou must have trained with the best badasses around like Master Asia… Or maybe Genjurou might be Gen Fudou in disguise!

    The more I see this anime, the more I’m convinced it will end in a saikano way : Hibiki will most likely not be ‘dead’, but wish she would in the end, fighting a neverending war with the noise.

    Everytime I watch Symphogear, i feel like I’m watching anime from the early 2000s… or even the late 90s…
