Oh god, this sounds so much like rape but it’s not. HOW DOES SHE DO THIS?!

Shiraume is probably the only one that can say things like that and not sound like a perverted lesbian rapist.

Oh dear, she found something bad.

Poor Satou.

Oh man, this episode of Ben-To was so pointless but thankfully they delivered Shiraume fanservice in spades to keep my interest in. Last week’s twins episode was already quite pushing it a little already, so thankfully at least this week’s was spent on Shiraume instead. Man how does Kayano Ai infuse her voice with such deadpan sexiness? And how hasn’t been reported by Oshiroi-san for repeated sexual assaults? IT BOGGLES THE MIND. Guess I can see why Oshiroi went down the fujoshi route….

Admittedly though, I want the show to go back to the crazy bento fighting every night and seeing Yarizui-senpai’s glorious kicks. The fadeout sequence this episode seems to hint that she might be the focus of the next episode, so hopefully that’s true.

    Satou will endure, in a manner of so many male protagonists, he is indestructible (Yay! Keitaro the immortal! – Love Hina)
    OTOH, poor Oshiroi, I guess she really needs a muscled hero cop to rescue her from Ume…

    I agree with that! Hana Oshiroi is a yaoi fujoshi, not a yuri fangirl!

    Still, there’s that one fat guy with glasses who needs to be punished by Ume. Don’t know what his name is.

    My brain will explode, not because of the fanservice but I can’t take anymore Ume has the right to murder Satou and nobody will stop her bs.
    She wants to rape Oshiroi, fine, go ahead but stop attacking the man for existing near the girl in any way.

    I kind of wish one of the future Ben-to novels to be fully dedicated to breaking Ume. I mean, getting a glimpse inside her head to see how desparate and despaired she really is. An extensive flashback to show how she becomes what she is now, how she gradually closes off her heart in light of Oshiroi not returning her feelings (hey, after this episode, telling that Hana is unaware of Ume’s wish to scissor her until the cows come home will break my suspension of disbelief). A tragic story of her seeing Hana’s increasing interest in Sato. Anyway, that kind of a sappy yuri story of unrequited love. If it’s done right, it might even make her a slightly sympathetic character. Like Louise (Zero no Tsukaima – I’ve actually come to like her after reading the novels).

    The fanservice was awesome. The context, not so much. The scenes of Ume assaulting Oshiroi unsettle me about as much as Oshiroi in full Muscle Cop-writing mode (and that puts me off pretty damn hard). And damn, poor Satou. There’s a limit to how much unwarranted abuse can fit into comedy. But then, I guess this is just continuing an old trend.

    One part that was damn cool to me, though, was Ume squaring off against the twins. That had all the makings of a catfight-to-be.

    Yeah, I agree with jingoi. Ume is too damn ridiculous. It’s like Satou is guilty for being alive in her mind. She could at least attempt to stop Oshiroi from hanging around Satou if she wanted to, by using her authority as the president of the student council. Ume makes one sided assumptions about Oshiroi and Satou all the time, and doesn’t accept other people’s opinions at all. She obviously holds an idolized view of Oshiroi and won’t accept the actual yaoi loving Oshiroi. I don’t know how a character as selfish as her could survive until now. She’s a certified “B****”.

    The thing that I couldn’t take is the amount of abuse satou is taking, even for reason of comedic relief. It’s not like he’s a weakling, he’s won a lot of fights, he could at least AVOID Ume’s abuses. And after so many abuses he’s experienced from her, he should at least be ready for it (you know, at least put a guard up, make some attempt to avoid it, or at least flinch before the abuse came). She fricking ask him every time she’s going to abuse him, he could’ve at least said “no” once. And it’s not like he avoids fighting with girls, cause he’s won in a fight with shaga. He’s not shown to enjoy abuse, like sado taro from MM either. The portrayal of Satou is too inconsistent in my mind, even though he’s supposed to be the main character.

    Remember, ryuuu, that he is only strong when he’s hungry. That explains his varying strength.

    @Ryuuu

    Ume is vastly more powerful than the wolves. She’s just…not a wolf. So it doesn’t really come up.
