Fate/Zero 09

Fate/Zero

I… finally felt sorry for Kayneth. After all, he’s been fucked up real bad and his wife betrays at a time like this…

Fate/Zero

Really… being Lancer is suffering ;_;

On the bright side, the second half of the episode was focused on Waver and Iskander, so it was pretty great! Waver’s got a pretty good idea on how to find Caster’s lair, and guesses right as well, leading to Rider actually being impressed by it.

Fate/Zero

Fate/Zero

Awww… dat blush. These two are the best Master-Servant pair of the show and it will be sad day when they finally bow out :(

Already can’t wait for the next episode though since…

Fate/Zero

It’s a full episode about Rin! Ahhh… I didn’t knew Rin had enough appearances in the novels to warrant a full episode for her! It’s going to be long wait for Sunday ;_;

    Damn, being Lancer is suffering. That awesome face of his might lead to his downfall a second time. In the modern age, such a “curse” would be a huge awesome blessing, but for a knight like him…

    I’m surprised Lancer wasn’t there to hear Sola and Kayneth’s talk though. He would have never stood for such Yandere craziness. Too bad he was too busy guarding the perimeter, or maybe Sola told him to so she could have some alone time with her husband.

    Waver and Iskander had their moments this ep too. The Assassin battle was really toned down, but oh well, it was one of the smaller skirmishes. They did a pretty good job depicting the horror of Caster’s lair without actually showing it, as what was there would be waaay too graphic for prime time TV. I guess gore/guro fans will have to wait until the BD’s come. Aside from the moment shown this ep don’t remember much of Waver’s magecraft so I lol’d when he said he was an Alchemist (I had an Ohh so that’s part of his magic reaction).

    I worry a bit about Rin’s episode though. I don’t remember much of her at all in the novels. Will this be an anime original? Well then again, Rin is awesome so it couldn’t be bad to have more Rin, hahaha.

    The rider’s line in third picture also can refer to “cutting the Gordian knot”, which is, done by rider himself.

    I don’t think I’m the only one who thinks that Waver has the potential to be an amazing main character. The only problem is, he either dies or loses the Holy Grail War. After all, Fate/Stay has to keep up its continuity.

    I’ve been somewhat spoiled, but at least it’s heartening to know that Waver takes on the wisdom of IskanGAR and grows into his own MAN later on…

    Also, I must say this again, BEING LANCER IS SUFFERING…

    First thing I thought from that Sola scene: Yume Nikki. That’s a Yuuno face if I ever saw one.

    Secondly, I like the juxtaposing of the two main parts of this episode: Kayneth, the arrogant ‘Magic By Blood Is All’ betrayed first by his own magicks, and then by his own fiancee as his power by birth kicks him in the ass.

    Then we have Waver, who, as Rider points out cuts the Gordian knot and makes do with what limited power he himself has to do simple but very key things.Almost a shame we never will know what his actual theory on magical power was.

    There is a part in the novel where Rin has her appearance
    ———-spoilers warning—————–
    she met one of the masters she knew, if i remember correctly, and her mother almost had an heart attack from finding out about that
    ————spoilers done—————–

    about lancer

    among chinese viewer/reader/players, there’s a pretty well known sentence, origin unknown:”lancers get a luck of E all the time”

    …almost felt pity for Kayneth. Almost!
    Anyway Lancer would be perfec pair for Saber if they were not fighting against each other. Their sense of honor is perfect match!
    Oh and Waver gets the job done with some (al)chemy 101, and Iskander is as great as usual. I wonder if the hideout was such a valuable asset to Caster but it seems he is running out of assets (damaged book, destroyed hideout).
    Last but not least already 2 teams know the secret that the Assassins are alive and kicking. Wonder if they can go so far as to demand to change arbiter who is harboring active player?
