Guilty Crown 07

Guilty Crown

There’s no way my mom can be this young!!

Guilty Crown

Good Mom Haruka

>Finds out son brought back a girl to apartment.
>Orders pizza for dinner first.

Guilty Crown

I know that’s usually creepy in real life but DAMN, I would mind some skinship with Haruka.

Dear god, why did they take so long to introduce Haruka in to the show? Admittedly I have to say this is bordering on over-pandering already, but once you look back at the mess of the past three weeks, OH WELL WHY THE FUCK NOT ENJOY THIS INSTEAD AMIRITE? Plus, Haruka is pretty damn hawt for a genetic scientist cooped up in labs for days at a time. God damn it, Production I.G.

Guilty Crown

I’m sorry Inori. You’re still the cute heroine, but Haruka pretty much stole the episode so hard, no one noticed it was missing until it ended.

Of course, Gai still has that special FABULOUS-ness of his…

Guilty Crown

God, even when insulting a lady so directly, he’s just so fucking FABULOUS.

Still, his little plan was pretty damn shrewd of him… though I wonder if he had planned on having Arisa on board, knowing what her Void was, or was he just merely winging it and hoping for some crazy coincidence that a party full of geezers and businessmen would have someone with a crazy-powerful enough Void to take whatever the GHQ, that he baited himself, was going to throw at them. Sometimes I just wonder if he’s just recklessly lucky or meticulously planning every damn thing in the show.

Speaking of the GHQ attack, this new guy, Dan, is so hilariously ridiculous.

Guilty Crown

I don’t even know if these things actually fucking work when they’re lying sideways like that. At this point I’m not sure which side has the more sane people, the Undertakers or the GHQ.

Once again…

Guilty Crown

Shu’s mom is damn hawt.

Seeing this picture at the episode’s end though…

Guilty Crown

… really makes me wonder how old she really is. And who is mysterious pink hair who seems to be able to speak in Shu’s mind somehow. Guess we will see. Hope it’s not like the Marianne-C.C. dynamic in Geass lol.

Finally, omake end card by okama mmmmm~

Guilty Crown

P.S. I will just leave this here as well since it’s already uploaded.

Gai is now seriously scare me, the shit he gets away with and the pimping skills he has it’s like someone gave Lelouch the bloody Tohno gland and leveled it up to work on men too…. bastard

The fact that Endo Aya was using her Sheryl Nome voice for Arisa was incredibly distracting. Though I did appreciate the shower scene.

Anyway, between Arisa and Haruka, they were clearly trying to overload us on service to keep us from noticing that this episode was completely bugfuck retarded

No, I’m very certain you can’t just flip on over and turn a SAM into a surface-to-ship missile… The guidance chips don’t work that way -_-

I thought Arisa was just like Sheryl in this episode, by the way she hits the guy in the very beginning. Then I heard Endo’s Sheryl voice I was like LOLOLOLOLOL.Armadillo-chan is promising.

At best, Guilty Crown is meh for me. I don’t hate it, I don’t like it, just meh. For every episode I watch, the only thing it does is making me want to watch Eureka 7 again, as the relationships were similar to this but way better written.

I also get the feeling that the whole script is made out of shoehorned in ideas. Code Geass had it’s manipulation ability that fit it perfectly- say what you want about CG, but the ability was the centre of the story and worked so well with the character.
Here, this whole thing with pulling weapons out of people doesn’t fit the setting or main character at all, and just feels like someone’s last moment idea to make it stand out from the rest and not make the protagonist completely useless.

Interesting strategy there IG. Take a series that continuously pisses off viewers with how bloody nonsensical it is … and make it even more stupid. This thing is like an anime equivalent of a lobotomy.

Nowadays even a 60 years old looks like a 20 years old due to New Cell Procedure.

grrrr… plot has gone thru the window… Gai obviously wagered on the 1.his “upstanding citizen report ” will provoke GHQ to intervene 2.he will find appropriate coid to use 3. Shu will manage to deflect whatever GHQ throws their way 4. old rich guy will be impressed enough to side with them.
Speaking of GHQ, the new quirky miniboss is so stupid and so stereotypically Yankee it hurts… oh and nobody bats an eyelash when order to sink ship with hundreds of people is given. Wake up, professional militaries don’t work like that! I excuse the scarface (nickname fits!) because he evidently suspected Gai will be there with Shu to intercept missiles, hence his Xellos – like laid back attitude.
It is official, i watch this series for fanservice only, and this is where it shines from the fabulous mom, to fabulous shower scene, and for girls out there fabulous max Gai – how often do you see anime guy intercept girl’s slap in the face?
And as a military otaku I assure you SAM’s can be used in emergency as cruise missiles, as US Navy proved off the coast of Vietnam with Talos missiles.

“And as a military otaku I assure you SAM’s can be used in emergency as cruise missiles, as US Navy proved off the coast of Vietnam with Talos missiles.”

If that’s the case then there’s no reason why you have to flip one over now is there =p ?

As for the plot, I’m fairly convinced now that I’ll be enjoying GC for Gai being oh-so-painfully-FABULOUS and Shu for being the beta-as-fuck-Lancer.

If you squint reaaaaaaally hard, you might find the achiever Gai = Kamina while coward-like but good hearted Shu = Simon.

That and I still can’t believe Haruka is Shu’s mother. I mean, I’m not so sure about (future!)Japanese family dynamics, but calling her by her first name makes me a little concerned…

Funny, I actually find Shu more likable now…not that it did much.

Anyway, right now I’m just waiting for the doujins this show will inevitably spawn.

    1. If it wasn’t obvious enough, this was a very lighthearted episode, and done fairly well as that. Enjoy what the directors are trying to bring to the table instead of spouting off e-sophistry every week. C’mon, Dan ordering the bad boys to flip SAM over was funny, right? I wasn’t the only one who laughed?

    2. I’ll admit the plot seems weak because of the formulaic put-MC-in-seemingly-innocuous-situation, jk-missiles-inc, use-power-save-errbody-lol approach, but the more I look at the tropes this show employs as literary/plot devices, the more I appreciate them. Obviously the tropes are there, but they are actually tastefully done and not dragged out (i.e. Haruka’s expression upon meeting Inori. Disbelief? Horror? Deja-vu? At least it didn’t turn into a romcom caricature like Mirai Nikki).

Gai “engineers” the GHQ attack as a means to demonstrate the supremacy of Void technology to Kuhouin. At the beginning, Shibungi points out that FP’s domestic supply routes were cut off, so this arc had the purpose of showing how FP established a new (and influential) supplier. Everything Gai does makes sense in that context – he alludes to knowing that Arisa was on board beforehand and brings Shu along.

    3. Which in conclusion, is why the show should be watched with a grain of salt. There’s definitely a lot of weaknesses, and the show runs this way and there in filling out its major plot arcs, but the overall framework is a lot more coherent than people peddle off. As of last week, I would have stated that there were far fewer “useless” characters than Code Geass, but I will have to retract that now. Anyway, enjoy the ride.

  13. ewok40k Said,

Gai is wagering too much on a series of assumptions that might not work it would be enough to either Arisa or Shu for some reason or another to fail to appear or work correctly, to end episode in big bada boom and hundreds of casualties including his intended wealthy ally… Imagine, say , that Arisa caught a cold and could not attend the party…
Oh, and flipping missiles was completely needless, nowadays most missiles use VLS (vertical launch system).

  14. Jif Said,

    November 26, 2011 @ 4:02 am

I agree, but the same can be said for any situation that requires chessmastering. I am lukewarm about the string-pulling, but I was also lukewarm about it in Code Geass. Anyway, disbelief suspenders are equipped for viewing pleasure. The missile-tipping was meant to be over-the-top and ridiculous, just like Dan. ’twas funny.

You have to: The missile would just go up instead of going horizontal.

    “Meme from Denpa Onna.”

“In fact, I can’t recall a single mother this year that doesn’t look young -_-”

Well there’s Yuuki’s mom from Mirai Nikki too.

“The guidance chips don’t work that way -_-”

Unless there isn’t one right from the start.
