Holy crap, is this the first real confession Keima has ever gotten from a girl?

The World God Only Knows

Oh dear god Ayumi saw it too.

I certainly hope that is just part of his plan to reverse the capture from Chihiro to Ayumi… but nevertheless goddamnit Keima. While Chihiro isn’t even in my favourite girls of TWGOK list, doing that to her was just really horrible.

I can only hope he justifies it next week.

I’ll break my self-imposed internet exile at home because, really, it has to be said. Keima messed up. Either he’s lashing out blindly, overreacting, or just backpedaling in panic, but the end result is still not nice. There’s a lot of better ways of letting Chihiro off, and this isn’t one of them. What’s worse, Ayumi saw EVERYTHING. Whoops.

    >Holy crap, is this the first real confession Keima has ever gotten from a girl?

    Isnt it sad to be forgotten already Kanon? ;_;

But yeah I agree, Chihiro is not even my fav girl but DAMN Keima, that was just cold blodded…I am honestly stumped right now, I have NO IDEA whats gonna happen right now.

A guy should NEVER do that to anyone! That’s just cruel!

  4. Forceflow Said,

    November 16, 2011 @ 3:00 pm

Hes cruel. Because he must and he can take whatever comes next.

You saw the gears turning in his head. Originally he was going to use Chihiro like how he used Ayumi. As a board in order to get Ayumi’s path.

However he chose not to and purposely shoved her away, in a manner that is all very typical of his behaviour.

Because he doesn’t want her to get involved further. That to hurt her now once is better than to suffer watching him get together with Ayumi with her help.

I feel like if this had happened AFTER the whole goddess matter was settled, it would’ve been a good ending.

Or maybe the fact that it wasn’t was what made it in this part of the story.

I’m not really counting all the girls with other factors in them (spirits, goddesses) to be “real confessions”. Chihiro is currently first girl that has willingly confessed to Keima without other elements in play (spirit, goddess) in her that has affected that “love”.

But yeah I am just hoping he’s doing that purely to jump on Ayumi’s route since if Chihiro continues to like him, Ayumi’s “friendship” is going to be a giant roadblock for him.

At least now, with Chihiro hating on him, if Ayumi indulges in her repressed feelings, the friendship won’t be such a huge stumbling block.

As for the fact Ayumi witnessed Keima’s assholery… that might be a giant, temporary wrench in the plans. In any case, we’ll see what Takaki comes up with next week.

But keima has aaaaaaaaaalways turned it around.. right? right? hopefully…? :(

That was one of the most touching confessions I’ve seen in a long time. Keima, what were you thinking? Seriously, I want to know the train of thought that went into this. Is he serious? Does he really not feel anything for her? I need the next chapter, and soon!

  9. Woto Said,

I gotta agree with Keima’s “why me” just loook at what he is and she fell for him before he turned his swag on. She really is exactly what she said back in her arc, going for the pretty boy without thought. Too bad for her he had Keima swag

Fuck you Keima, that went too far!

  11. Myssa Rei Said,

Woto: Actually, given this little revelation, couldn’t it be the opposite? That Chihiro’s confession-spree was brought about by her own denial that she got attracted to the LEAST attractive guy in school? Kind of makes sense to me.

as Forceflow said, this is for the better good in keima’s book. if he just tries to let down chihiro easily(like saying “give me time”) it will make her into a possible target for vintage.
and if keima said “I like someone else”, chances are this will be even more heartbreaking for chihiro, especially if she finds out his targeting ayumi.

this is actually good as an interpretation could be read as the guy is in denial. and that chihiro’s obstacle would be a game and not another girl which would be more harder for her.

she’d definitely rage at keima but she can read it as a delusional guy who sees 2D girls so she can regain back her momentum overtime, which is good as it keeps her from being involved and makes sure that she’ll not be heartbroken.

Actually i think this is the first time he’s being perfectly honest with the girls from his “conquests”. Sure we’ve seen hints here and there that his projected image during his conquests aren’t all lies or at least has some justification that it’s for the greater good, but it’s still a grand deception.
So i’d like to think what he said to Chihiro as some sort of sins confession, that he merely manipulates all the real women around him. He’s being a massive dick yes, but i want to give him some credit for not pulling chihiro further into his deceptions. At least he’s aware that he *is* tricking these girls and given we’ve had some glimpses of his more humane nature i can’t imagine he’s feeling good about it himself

  14. shinkirou Said,

actually i think tenri is the first person who “confess” to keima during childhood. due to her shy nature she might talk sofly that keima didnt notice/ forgotten.

  15. Rough Said,

    November 16, 2011 @ 11:39 pm

Actually, all that Ayumi witnessing the rejection guarantees is a (heated) talk between her and Katsuragi. From there he can spin it the way he usually does. I’m sure he can already see the ending.

  16. puppygod Said,

    What did you expect, really?

Let’s recap: Keima is bound by contract that might cause him lose his head, literally, at almost any moment. Said contract requires him to flirt with numerous girls, which he despises. He is neck-deep into matters of heaven and hell. If he fails his current task, Canon – and Apollo – will die. Which might in turn result in condemning hell – and by extension, Earth into worst of fates. He might be targeted at any moment by an ancient demon conspiracy. Anybody involved with him – including Chihiro – might become target of said conspiracy.

And you expect Keima to throw away all those responsibilities in order to score a bit of personal happiness?

That was inevitable. Poor Chihiro is going to be heartbroken, but it is the best that Keima can do for her at the moment.

  17. S_1 Said,

    November 17, 2011 @ 2:56 am

Why the surprise? this is Keima. The guy who has no interest in real girls and has no desire to interact with reality.

As others have said, dropping her right then and there would probably be the most logical course of action for him. I think Ayumi watching is very likely a miscalculation however.

  18. Anise_Punter Said,

Damn Keima, that is a whole new level of intrigue here. That chapter could have gone a number of ways; the way it took was not one I had even imagined. Colder than ice, even.

  22. GlassBiscuit Said,

    November 17, 2011 @ 1:16 pm

Unless this was all part of a grand master “got to catch them all” plan, then I don’t think he could ever justify that.

  23. Hamiltong Said,

    November 18, 2011 @ 7:11 am

Wow, Keima. Cold, but needed. If he hadn’t done that, he would have made Chihiro a possible Vintage target, and we could probably give up all hope of Keima retreiving Mercury from Ayumi.
Although now I’m not sure even Keima will be able to do that now, after Ayumi saw what he just did. He has created a need for MAJOR damage control. If he wins this time, he truly is a God.
Is anybody else a little sad that Sugata didn’t have a goddess? She was kind of AMAZING. I miss her already. And Haqua. She needs to get back.

  24. DocAstaroth Said,

I doubt, Keima really act rational here. He is obviously more scared by the ostracism he experienced as kid when he lets on.
Kids like him then often reject other people´s approach, because they fear to get hurt again. Poor bastard, I hope Chihiro realizes Keima´s troubles…

    Poor my sweet Chihiro! She is my favorite one…My heart is broken. ;_;
In my opinion, Keima has been too mean. He could use some other lines…but he was very shocked by her confession, and this has been the result. A very cruel one.
