Fate/Zero 02

Fate/Zero

HNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNGHHHH loli Ilya.

Goddamnit, Fate/Zero, stop turning me into Shin. Ilya is normally pretty damn cute already, but in loli form it’s pretty much a WMD.

Man, I just realized the best scenes of Fate/Zero to me so far are all the loli scenes (yes, including Sakura’s), derp.

Well, it’s not all just lolis that are good though, Rider is turning out to be one pretty awesome bro…

Fate/Zero

As for the others, firstly god damn that fucker Bluebeard. I’ve heard of his… “unpleasantness” but damn, that’s some pretty sick shit he likes to do there. And Gilgamesh. Fucking fabulous as usual isn’t he? Poor Assassin #1 had no chance.

The ED animation is pretty well done too, with the shots of all the Servant’s previous lives, but I’m a little sad there’s not claymation lol. Yet.

That Yuki Kajiura sound track is sounding really good so far too, like the music where Irisviel talks to Saber. I just wish it will be a separate purchase instead of a BD LE extra :/. I don’t think I’ll be collecting the BD’s since it’s going to be like 2x the price of Madoka plus the killer exchange rate (4.1 MYR = 100 yen orz)

Really glad this anime seems to know what its doing. They did Casters intro perfectly. I can tell, because that scene was horrible, just as disturbing as when i read it in the novels. With those two in this war there will only be a lot more death, blood and horror. I really love to hate those two (though they do have a strange entertainment value at the same time) and i really hope someone kills them soon. Poor Assassin really got bad luck with Gil there, and he looked so cool sneaking into the mansion. Reminded me of this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FtK2qyQJcOc&feature=related

Now that ive talked about all the other minor stuff this episode, allow me to take a moment to say HELL YEAH RIDER!!! ALL HAIL THE KING OF CONQUERORS! XD :) Alexander is so much fun, badass, and all around cool. I love how he is such a bro. Out of all the groups in Fate Zero, him and Waver are definitely my favorite. Naturally i still wont say anything spoiley, but i really cannot wait to see more of them. Their interactions are great, battles are great, everything about them really works for me. Thats all i can say with us only at episode two.

Pretty good but I demand more Saber!

I was very surprised to know that Rider was Alexander, as he died young and was known for his hatred towards beards, thought he was Cyrus or Hannibal for a while. He also used cavalry so heavily that the chariot became outdated under his time, but then again, one of the main themes of the Fate series is about how our knowledge of history degenerates over time. Still, I would like to know why Gilgamesh wears what appear to be a late medieval tournament armor, though!

History buffiness aside, Urobuchi might have overdone the whole dark storytelling bit. I mean, it never was a dance on roses, but neither was it a dance on thorns! I am not really complaining, it’s just a shift in mood from what I had come to expected.
Kind of funny how unpredictable this prequel is. Ironic, really.

    So, UFOtable, got Tsukihime?

    “So, UFOtable, got Tsukihime?”

Oh god, I hope so. Tsukihime needs a remake with the hands of UFOtable.

Great episode. But I am still waiting on Lancer. It’s about time anime had a kickass Irishman.

    Ilya so cute ;o
Nothing much to say besides it was better than the first episode (in my opinion) and the scene with Gilgamesh was indeed fabulous. Also glad you commented on the ED, since I found it rather nice as well.

Man, I really hope these guys make a LOT of money here because I want to see much more of things like this.

    isn’t Ilya always loli?

Rider conquered my heart as easily as his historical self went thru Persian Empire… A true general begins with maps. I was amazed how he reacted to how small his “World Conquest” was in reality. While his chariot is cool, I kinda expected Bukefalos to show up :3
On a contrasting note, Caster is as creepy as they go. If he really is THAT Bluebeard it would be fitting for him to mistake Saber for Jeanne.
Assassin confronting Archer was too short… and I feel that duel isn’t over yet as I expected more from our church sponsored Magus.
Saber made me remeber herself from FSN, and Ilya is being criminally cute. If she was cute loli in FSN, here it is turned up to 11. Also Kiritsugi shows previously unknown face of a family man. BTW does that make his adopted son a stepbrother to Ilya?
And what of the British nobleman-magus? whom did he summon? This might yet be interesting. Same goes to the worm-ravaged magus…

Ahhhh Rider. He truly is the best bro I’ve seen since Meiya of Muv-Luv Alternative. He only gets cooler as it goes on too :D

I see I’m not the only one who mistook Archer as Gilgamesh. Why the fuck does Kirei called him Archer then? =\

    @Klux:

Fate/Zero’s Archer is Gilgamesh. As for why they use the class name, it’s so that they don’t tell the opponent who their servant is. It was like that if F/SN as well, just that by then Archer/Gilgamesh didn’t really care about keeping his identity secret. He even introduced himself by name, something unthinkable in the context of a normal Holy Grail War.

Type Moon (and by extension UFOtable) really loves their lolis. :3

    > Tsukihime needs a remake with the hands of UFOtable.

What are you talking about, there was no Tsukihime anime. :P

In all seriousness, if they’re going to animate Type Moon’s flagship setting, they should aim for an animated adaption of Melty Blood, unless Lerche (the animation company that did the Carnival Phantasm OAVs) will be tapped for that (and I for one will be fine with them, Carnival Phantasm was pretty fun if rather short).

I just notice something, In Fate/Zero ep 1, those two circling around Kirei just tell him to aid Tokiomi, they never ONCE tell Kirei that he can also, and has the right, to get the Grail!!!
I wonder does Kirei know this or not !

Also, so far Assassin#1 has fall, I’d rally like to see Assassin #2-#5 soon……

  14. ewok40k Said,

    October 12, 2011 @ 3:51 pm

    What? attack of assasin clones?
Other than that, Kirei seems to be intelligent enough to deduce his own opportunity for the Grail, so I would not exclude the idea of him betraying his allies later…

I found it amusing that the pair who had the best chemistry between them happened to be the two serial killers.

Oh, and yeah, Bro Alexander is Bro.

  16. Dakkar Said,

Well, ten seconds of Gilgamesh or Rin per episode already make this show worth watching to me, but Bluebeard looks quite promising as well. Alexander, on the other hand, is quite different from how I would picture him, and I can’t say I really like his antics so far.

Always liked Yuki. Her stuff does sound “interchangeable” at times (e.g., Noir x Madlax) , but it’s still good. I especially like her work with women’s choirs.
