Ikoku Meiro no Croisée 08

Ikoku Meiro no Croisée

Wow, I didn’t expect that side of Camille to pop out. “Hell hath no fury but a woman scorned”, was it? Thankfully enough, Yune is almost impossible to be hated for a long period.

New insert/ED song this time too. I really have to say this is probably the most happening episode of Ikoku Meiro thus far, what with the Camille and Claude angle brought up front, in such a dark way too. At the same time, it was also really soothing too, especially the flashbacks of Alice and Camille and Yune charmingly deflecting Camille’s jealous outburst towards her.

Looks set to continue next week as well. Kinda blind after here onwards though, manga scans stopped around this part of the story as well. Judging from the preview, we’ll be treated to more of Claude and Camille’s past together and the cameraman returns again. Yeah if I had a Yune at home, I’d be having a photographs taken all the time too!

Meanwhile, I wanna find a peaches like this…

What follows here is there’s a massive fire and Yune gets injured gravely. Take that as you will.

In all seriousness though, I felt that, while Camille was certainly jealous at Yune, it was jealousy in part due to the freedom she enjoyed compared to the expected societal pressures Camille was under — at this point, she’s practically expected to participate in a marriage of convenience, likely to further her family’s fortunes, and there’s no real way she could go against it. While she did (and probably still) loved Claude, the difference in their social standings will forever stand in the way of anything more than a (tenuous) friendship.

And you wonder why Claude is bitter. The pressures of keeping his family’s business alive aside, his experience with Camille probably soured his perceptions of the bourgeois even further.

If I found peaches with a little Yune in it I would be more upset that I can’t eat it.
