Hanasaku Iroha 21

Hanasaku Iroha

So the bomb finally explodes.

So okay, Enishi and Takako decide to get married and Sui allows it on the condition they hold the ceremony properly. Which of course, totally kills their finances, so they decide to hold it in Kissuisou instead. But really who cares about them anyways?

Turns out the real focus here is the inevitable explosion of Minko’s jealousy of Ohana, with the final trigger brilliantly pulled by Toru at the beach. Which leads to the bath confrontation (GIF’s here, here, here), probably about the only reason to watch this episode.

Or unless you fancy Takako for some bizarre reason. “Enishingu”? Really? I mean, really?

Oh right, there’s also a flashback of how Sui and her husband first met and took over Kissuisou too, which is pretty nice if you like to see her character development. Really though, what happened to the onibaba from the first episode? I kinda miss that.

Hanasaku Iroha

Ahhh… how young she was.

Hanasaku Iroha

Holy crap Denroku’s hair!

I’m really not sure anymore about what to say about Hanasaku. It’s just way all over the place right now.

Next week, the conclusion of the wedding arc, Ohana confronting(?) Minko and more Tomoe antics.

I’m guessing Okamisan wants Ohana to be the successor.

Know what, when I heard that it was an episode focusing on Dumb and Dumber, I said fuck this episode.

I like how Okami basically punk’d her by the end there. Also Nako’s reaction to the ero novel was fucking hilarious. I dunno, I had a lot of fun with this episode.

…well I did cringe at every single allusion to “Enishingu”. Still, I think I like mixed bags better than empty ones.
