Negima! 334

The Asuna Strikes Back!

Man, this chapter sure took its time…

( ゚∀゚)アハハ八八ノヽノヽノヽノ \ / \/ \
Negi getting an ohime-sama dakko save by Asuna. Not sure to squee or lol more.

The d’aaaaaaaw moment of the chapter. Goddamnit, scenes like this makes me feel like AsuxNegi instead of ChiuxNegi :P

Of course, it doesn’t last long.

Oh man, this transformation was pretty awesome. Asuna is looks very fetching in white, don’tcha think?

The Lifemaker’s real identity is… Nagi?!

Hurr… is that the first real contact from Nagi in the series so far? It looks like the Lifemaker isn’t done yet too. Guess that theory of Nagi’s disappearance due to him getting taken over by the Lifemaker was true after all.

Ahahaha, looks like Asuna’s gotten back her previous life’s memories and knowledge.

Time for the deus ex machina restore!

Akamatsu really went quite wild with this chapter didn’t he? Not to mention reminding all of us back again who is the true heroine in Negima! after all this while, lol.

I guess this wraps up the battle to save Mundus Magicus, but the Lifemaker and Nagi angles looks set to be combined for the next (and final?) arc of the series. The idea of Nagi being or taken over by the Lifemaker has been one of the most plausible theories to explain the main mysteries of the series to date and it looks like Akamatsu’s finally confirmed it with this chapter.

Of course, this will probably be slowly revealed in the next hundred chapters ahead, but for the time being, we can rejoice for Asuna regaining her true powers and identity(?) as well. Another 2 more days till the raws hit for the next chapter. I do hope Akamatsu doesn’t waste it all for some fanservice/RnR chapter. Also, Evangeline!

This chapter felt really rushed and the dues ex machina was a disappointing end to the battle…Hopefully next chapter will be better.

The theory that the Lifemaker is able to take over other people after he’s defeated/killed seems to be correct. However, it does not explain how Nagi seems to have control over his body when he disappeared, and how killing Nagi would put an end to everything.

My guess is that Nagi tricked the Lifemaker into taking over his body, but Nagi was prepared for it, and somehow merged with him instead. They are now constantly fighting over the control of the body, and Nagi can prevent the Lifemaker from taking over someone else when they die.

Why do you call Deus Ex Machina? It was stated way ahead, that this would be possible.

Lifemaker: Obiwan never told you what happened to your father…
Negi: He told me enough! He told me you killed him!
Lifemaker: No… I am your father!
Lifemaker: Search your feelings! You know it to be true!

Vader: “(Luke), I am your father.”

    Nagi/Lifemaker: “(Negi, I’m your father)”
    Negi: ……………………….

Actually, after almost a full year of fighting, I’d say we DO NEED a few fanservice/RnR chapters. It can’t be all tension all the time, it’s just tiring.

@OverMaster: Usually I would agree with you, but there’s quite a bit things that need catching up to after this. Like Asuna’s stuff, and all the mystery of Nagi with the Lifemaker. Also, Eva getting out of school.

Oh, not forgetting the big ass mess Mahora Academy must be in.

if the grand master key can just restore everything then what’s all the fuss fate and his gang is making =/

Asuna’s character has now been ruined..

There goes the carefree lovable idiot (literally) she used to be.

Also as a side note, I wonder how old Negi really is now, considering all the training time (be it in Eva’s sphere, scroll and everything else he’s gone into) he’s accumulated it would easily have stacked on a year or two by now right?

I actually liked this chapter. Asuna came back and saved Negi in a pretty impressive fashion. The people of Mundus Magicus were brought back and we now know who the Life Maker is. The next chapter might have fan service to give Negi and the gang a break since they have been fighting half a year.

Did Fate know Nagi was the Lifemaker? Fate was smiling like he knew or had already figured out who Lifemaker was.

    here is my theory ,
the first life maker (seem to have same look with nagi’s master) defeated by nagi , eventually inherit the life maker will and become the second life maker (coz nagi is light element in this chapter he use dark element due corruption) and if negi manage to defeat he ‘might’ be the third . and cycle continue on. btw this is juz my theory

The 2nd LM look like Zect because it is Zect.

LM took over Zect when he/she was defeated back in great war.

10 yrs ago (or so) Nagi defeated the LM/Zect and became the 3rd LM.

i’m guessing after all this is over, Negi’ll gain 4-5 years from all the time spent in those villa…

which means LET THE SHIPPING BEGIN!
