Hm, felt a little bit more dramatic in the execution, but overall, this looks like a good adaptation. It feels weird to keep seeing manga series I’ve read even before their anime announcements getting animated… guess I am really that old now :D

Of course, I wonder if the anime will reach the “teenage Rin” half of the manga. I kinda dropped it after that because the cuteness was gone :(.

Haha, Kurisu so moe this week. First with the Kyouma impression and then the “I made the time leap machine da~ze~!”

I really don’t quite get the “My spoon” and “My fork” thing though, I suspect it’s a 2chan meme, but I can’t help but leap to sexual thoughts about it… *ahem*

Pretty eventful episode on the second half though, since the first half was more futile struggling against the fates that kill Mayuri. Suzuha also finally reveals her true identity as the time traveler from 2036 and also the “John Titor” on the BBS boards. Turns out that satelite that crash landed was her time machine too. Hope we’ll see more badass scenes from her.

I just love it when rich people buy off everything just so it makes things easier for them. So reminded of Inception’s Saito during this scene.

I’m not entirely sold on the whole “stones” concept yet, but this show does seem decent enough for a entertaining watch for this season. At the very least, it looks to have some decent action scenes and the heroines are cute. Not to mention there’s an army of maids to play around with.

Seriously, a meido army. They really need to capitalize more on that part.

I just hope it doesn’t end up like Mai Hime….

D’aaaaawww Yune.

Ok, Ikoku Meiro survived the anime transition quite well, and maybe even better than the manga too since there’s colors and “HNNNGH CUTE!” Yune. Her seiyuu, Toyama Nao, is showing quite a bit of promise for her third major role and second as a leading one.

Probably one of the niggling issues that didn’t translate quite well to the anime would be probably the supposed “language barrier”, but to be honest, they’ve made it quite subtle. When you rewatch the episode, you actually see that Yune and Claude aren’t really communicating directly until the last few minutes of the episode. I think that was really brilliant on hindsight. Since the other alternative would probably be forcing everyone to talk in French… I’d rather prefer this way instead!

Oh wow, Yuina-hime. She’s hiding some serious issues beneath that facade of hers….

So anyways the new cour of Hanasaku kicks off with pretty decent new OP by nano.RIPE, not sure if I can say the same about the ED though…I already miss Hazy T_T.

Yuina also finally gets her proper screen time and really… she’s quite a high-tension character even if it doesn’t seem like that outwardly. The general outline of her story should probably involve the pressure put on her as the heiress for her family’s inn and how she probably doesn’t have the interest in doing it. The unfortunate victim of that seems to be her fiance though, that scene at the end where she said that she didn’t have any interest in running an inn sure hurt pretty bad…

The humorous highlight of this episode had to be Minchi’s scenes. First she gets publicly stripped and thrown in to the water by Yuina, then publicly confessed by another guy. Is it just me or has she become the comic relief character? Ohana still had her moments though, like when she tried to explain “hobiron” to the poor guy who get rejected by Minchi. Valiant effort, Ohana-chan.

Fanservice-wise though, this has gotta to be the most laden one so far. Yuina? Check. Minchi? Check. Nakocchi? Check. Ohana? Double check! Definitely a good episode for fapping eyecandy.

Well, next week should probably see Ohana and Yuina clashing over their differences in opinions about running an inn. Yep, more drama inbound.

Wow, I don’t think there’s been a truly epic episode after the wooden cubes one and the principal German Suplexing the deer. Glad to see the second cour kicking the show back on a high note. Nano finally gets to attend school too!

Quite liking the second ED as well. Not much to say about the song choice, but the animation was pretty cool yo.

Ahem, so Ro-Kyu-Bu kicks off this new season and thankfully turns out to be better than expected.

I did come in to this show, expecting nothing much other than creepy loli fanservice and maybe some decent seiyuu work, but it turned out that the show had more to offer than just that.

For one, the show didn’t had much dull moments and I pretty much kept my eyes on the screen even when the girls were properly clothed so that was quite a huge improvement over my abysmally low expectations of the show. Sure, the fanservice parts were aplenty and still creepy when you take in account that the girls are still under 12, but at least it wasn’t totally sexually blatant! Or maybe I’m just expecting scenes of the girls doing “stuff” to the balls or sucking elongated items for no reason too much. Thankfully that hasn’t happened yet!

The OP was the surprise though, as it was pretty decent as far as the usual stuff that comes out from show-specific seiyuu groupings produce. Probably due to the fact that KOTOKO wrote the lyrics and the guy from fripSide did the musical composition. The ED too had Halko Momoi adding in her own touch to it, which ended up making it decently cute as an outro.

Overall, this is still the first episode and there’s a whole three months for it to slide in to mediocrity, but at least for now, the production quality is pretty good. Hopefully they didn’t blow half their budget on animating the balls this episode though… I’d like to see pretty loli animation for at least another week or two. And maybe the story will actually develop properly too!

Ah, goddamnit, Denpa. I knew you would end with the bloody baseball game. Sure it’s a bit cliched…

… but I do kinda agree with Erio here. Cousin was pretty cool this two episodes.

Well, that ends the television run for Denpa for now, but there’s still the unaired episode 13 to be included with the last BD/DVD volume coming out about half a year later… so let’s just hope we all don’t forget about it.

I do hope Denpa sells enough to warrant a second season. Erio has a monopoly on all my HNNNGGH’s this year. Seriously.
