Steins;Gate 17

… d’aaaaaw Kurisu :(

Okay, this was a confusing episode. Suddenly the focused shifted to Feyris, and then she suddenly is able to recall back the memories from the original timeline after Kyouma tells her about it? Wait, I thought he was the only one who could do it. Anyways, it wasn’t really one of the good episodes of the series.

Still, at least we know that he’s gotta undo all the previous D-Mails he’d sent, but I sure hope it isn’t as confusing as the way he did it. And btw, I just don’t know why he can’t jump straight back to before the first D-Mail was sent and stop that. Hurr, time-travelling is always full of mindfuckery like this.

Also, the lighting really should be better. All the grimdark is seriously pissing me off.

P.S. Kinda wish we get to see Barrel Titor in the anime after seeing his art, but I highly suspect we won’t. Nevertheless Suzuha’s mom is pretty hawt.

Was the ep so confusing? I actually liked it quite a bit better than the last one ;)

Ach Chris. My heart is already bleeding for you. More and more I dread that Nitro+ will force a “save Mayuri or save Chris” decision on Okabe, and that would be horrible. It reminds me more and more of the horrible “Ein or Drei” choice from Phantom…

From what I gathered, the time slip machine can only go back 48 hours, hence why he did two jumps during the Suzuha incident.

But the D-Mail can go back any amount of time, given that there is a cellphone (or similar device) to receive the mail. This was shown with changing Ruka’s gender, which was years before.

So he has to resort to D-Mail for undoing those previously sent mail, since they happened more than two days ago.

As he can’t go back to the time when the first D-Mail was sent due to the limitation of the new time leap (just 2 days in the past) he just could send a D-Mail when he was in the radio-building at the beginning of the show writing some shit to prevent all of this … but wait, that would mean that Kurisu is dead :[

aaargh, I definitly would prefer kurisutina :3

He can’t use the time leap machine because the limitation is 48 hours, and it wouldn’t do anything to save Mayuri because it won’t change the divergence number. Thus, he has to rely on D-mail.

He can’t send out D-mails saying to stop the person from sending one because the world line shifted and the very action of sending the D-Mail never actually happened.

What Okabe and Kurisu are doing is sending a 2nd D-mail to cancel out the other one. Because in their current world line the person in question received the message, but the person who sent the message never actually sent it in that world line. That is why they can cancel it out with another message, but they cannot stop the message being received in the first place.

Plus the D-Mail was the only thing so far that actually changed something. Very interesting.

I’m sad to see Feyris nyan nyan go – once her problems are gone she’ll have no more legit screen time. :C
