Astarotte no Omocha 10

Astarotte no Omocha

HEY SEVEN ARCS, ASTAROTTE WON THE CONCERT SCENE COMPETITION THIS WEEK.

Seriously, I liked this way more than the one in DOG DAYS this week, and this show doesn’t even Astarotte having the “famous singer” character setting! Sure it wasn’t all fluidly animated and panned here and there, but I still liked it a lot more than the one by Seven Arcs!

This week was pretty much another fanservice episode, with even more skin exposure by Lotte and her friends mostly, with a surprise appearance by Naoko as well. That was funny, but sadly underutilized. Poor Effie got herself a hard time too again. And the gnome princess has an unhealthy obsession with people’s nether regions as well… poor Elika.

In the mean time, it looks like the anime will be heading to a provisional ending with the “should we return to where we came from” plotline apparently. A little cliched, but I guess it’s the only way they can think of ending the series for now, since manga is still ongoing, etc. etc. Oh well.

Also, I’d pay good money to see Mercelida’s idol performance. Seriously.

Who wouldn’t?!

Hanasaku Iroha 11

Hanasaku Iroha

Pretty dramatic episode as Ohana reunites with her MOTHER-OF-THE-YEAR over the case of the magazine article (where Kissuisou received a dismal 5/10). Cue much mother-vs-daughter drama. Those two, despite the extremely dysfunctional relationship with each other, are pretty similar in the weirdest ways. Although I would say Ohana gets a bit more points for her sheer stubbornness. And calling her mother “baba” outright. Satsuki does deserve it a little bit…

That eventually made a weird shift to Ohana bumping in to Kou-chan and finding out that she’s gotten competition in the few months she’s left him. Which, coupled with the jealousy and probably a good dose of juvenile hormones led Ohana in to sharp downward spiral of negativity that got her another nosebleed, courtesy of running straight in to a pole (I laughed inappropriately at that unfortunately), although salvation came in the form of Tooru and Minchi coming to Tokyo to find her. Oh boy. That’s not exactly the best or right combo isn’t it?

Hanasaku Iroha

Included this due to the sheer ugly-cute-ness of it

Next week, more of Ohana’s adventures in Tokyo, joined in by Minchi and Tooru. Should prove to be fun.

And when is Yuina actually going to be a proper main character?

“Oh god what have they done to my Milhi?!”

Lol, seriously Seven Arcs. Why the sakuga destruction on the concert this week? Why? And I’ve already chosen one of the better looking shots of Milhi from the concert too!

Ironman

Seto no Hanayome

Oh lol, how can one forget about Lunar-papa and his “TERMINATE you.”

I really miss the way SetoHana executes all the parodies in their way. Nowadays, even EVA parodies aren’t that entertaining anymore.

Denpa Onna 09

Denpa Onna to Seishun Otoko

Of course, what’s a show called “Denpa Onna” going to do if it doesn’t at least have one ESPer. And the woes of Kyon-kun Makoto-kun is looking set to increase from here on!

NaGARsumi

Seto no Hanayome

FUCK YEAH, NAGARSUMI! Man, this is still one of the best episodes of the show. That song battle between San and Lunar is still so epic. Especially when it causes temporary brain damage. And of course, the awesome 「Mermaid Ancient Lyrics: Song of Heroes」! to cap it off.

And I’m still not even half past the show yet!

Steins;Gate 10

Steins;Gate

Mayushii says the darnedest things.

Glad to see that the Konata Doctrine has survived the erasure of Akiba as the Mecca of Moe in this timeline.

Slowing down the pace a bit, this week focuses on Suzuha and Okarin’s reaction towards the changed world. Gotta love Okarin’s “All the moe is gone from Akiba?!” line in the beginning of the episode. Also, Ruka is a girl now :DDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD! God that scene where Okarin molests Ruka to check… he’s lucky Kurisu didn’t throw report him at the nearest police box.

Suzuha’s story is that she’s looking for her father that will be popping up at a specific place… which turns out to be an offline meeting of time travel maniacs that Daru was supposed to attend but got suckered out of it by Okarin. Interestingly, Suzuha’s father also failed to turn up. Is that hinting that she’s actually Daru’s daughter?! FFFFFFFFU–-

On Okarin’s side, there was also quite a bit of development between him, Mayushii and Kurisu. Seriously, it feels like with every D-mail successfully sent, Okarin and Kurisu get closer and closer isn’t it? I liked the blackout scene in this episode quite a bit… but oh dear god I don’t want to know how Kurisu makes her apple pies. Not one to lose, Mayushii also revealed an interesting tidbit about Okarin’s childhood where he experienced a high fever that seemed to have given him his “Reading Steiner” ability. Feels like a giant hint there.

Seto no Hanayome

MASA-SANNNNN!!!

Holy crap, Seto no Hanayome is still so fucking good after all these years. Thank god someone -finally- finished the show proper. Now I can rewatch the show in its full glory.

Must remember to set aside the stomach medicine too. Laughing so hard till you bust your gut isn’t a fun experience when repeated a lot of times.
