Another month, another Madoka, another 12k yen gone….
I really need to get myself a blu-ray player though. I haven’t opened a single one of my Madoka blu-rays yet ORZ.
The bonus CD that came along with this, in case you missed yesterday’s post, is a special CD drama of the cast done in slice-of-life style. Surprisingly well worth it.

Imagine slice-of-life Madoka. Yes, this whole Drama CD is a what-if Madoka was Hidamari Sketch… HEY, WHY IS IT SUDDENLY RAINING? I CAN’T SEE ANYTHING THROUGH MY WET EYES.
*Ahem*. Uh, basically this is set where everyone didn’t die and Kyubey is more of the perverted and idiot mascot character cat. Much lulz were had when everyone kept admonishing him to act more like a pet instead of a evil, manipulative alien bastard. And getting fed cat food only, LOL.
Meanwhile the plot is basically Madoka and Sayaka getting bad grades after signing up to the Puella Magi Corps. So they decide to head to Mami’s place for a revision meetup, joined by Homura and Kyouko. It gets interrupted when QB senses Hitomi’s screaming and they rush over to find a underwear thief “familiar”…. that turns out to be a cat (DAT BLACK CAT) stealing panties to make itself a bed. After dealing with the stolen panties (Sayaka!), the rest adjourn back home for dinner… and everyone lived happily ever after! WHY IS IT STILL RAINING?

Hm, a lot weaker in execution than I expected. I’d thought there would be hope for the Nagase arc after the pleasant surprise of Chihiro’s one, but everything felt quite on autopilot for me so I didn’t enjoy it quite as much as I would’ve hoped. Even having Toyosaki take the role also didn’t help much for it at the end. But hey, the novelty of this conquest was seeing Keima do an older girl anyways and it accomplished that at least!
Too bad we won’t see Minami’s arc :(. That was surprisingly one of my favorites of the pre-Yui conquests.

Oh wow, Shinpachi finally gets a rare chance to do something badass. Taking out Pirako with one hit from the back of his blade was awesomely done.
Of course, the long-awaited showdown finally kicks off in this episode and holy crap it doesn’t disappoint. Lots of almost-forgotten faces come in to join the big fight and Otae even showed up with yandere face. The most LOL has to be Kyoshiro and male host entourage though, especially the short skit in the middle of the episode about the forgotten “tranny vs host” wars. Man, that was hilarious.
‘Course, the real villain finally reveals herself, as Kada tries to proclaim the Kabuki District as her own under the banner of the much-hated Harusame space pirates. This leads to a temporary teaming up of Gin-chan and Jirocho.
Oh boy, that bitch sure had it coming for her.
Also, Otose’s back too! Yay~!
LOL. Only Ohana can publicly announce a plan to kidnap her own mother without stuttering or realizing the absurdity of it. Although, I’m even more impressed by the way Tooru handled it by getting her to get Kou-chan along as well if she wants his cooperation in it. Sugoi yo, Tooru!
On that end, Ohana’s forced to confront her worst enemy, herself, as her attempts to actually get Kou to come along and admonishment from her love rival lead her to believe she would be the evil bitch in the often-watched TV dramas she likes. That made me go d’aaaaawwwww. Ohana-chan, if you can realize it yourself, you’re not that bad yet!
In the end, the ridiculous plan to kidnap Satsuki became useless since she suddenly has leave and decides to go back home with the rest of them. Saved up on the travel money too! Funny how Tooru’s bravery got sapped away after seeing her though, after all that talk of helping Ohana admonish her as well.
That said, what I talked about Satsuki and Ohana being similar despite their clashes came to a full round this week as we get to see Satsuki’s younger self standing up to her mother for always putting her job first. Funny how deep family ties can run eh? Next week sure is going to be fun to see Satsuki and Sui facing off each other. Unlike Ohana… both these girls are adults already, so things are probably going to go quite a bit… vindictive.
Although, the one I pitied the most this week has to be Minko-hime. Her dream of a date got turned in to a eating hell. Well, at least she got a “cute” memento of her Tokyo trip with Tooru! One that would probably make me want to sink my teeth in it variety of cute though.
Oh boy, the lab is certainly heading for dangerous waters here with the idea of sending one’s memories to the past. That plus Okarin’s “Reading Steiner” ability would be quite the powerful combination indeed if one was to fuck around with time lines and shit. Appropriately, the “creepy” factor of the show is going up with Okarin getting weird anonymous mails and SERN reverse-hacking the lab’s PC. I lol’ed though when Daru suggested they could use the LHC as much as they want.
Character-wise, Kurisu gets the bulk of the focus in this episode. Her quarrels with her dad is revealed and we get to see her and Okarin flirting quite a lot this week. The pudding part was hilarious, but the real show-stealer was her confession about her father to Okarin in the playground, for me. Also, Mayushii’s back with her “tuturu~” too! Yay!
