Steins;Gate 10

Mayushii says the darnedest things.

Glad to see that the Konata Doctrine has survived the erasure of Akiba as the Mecca of Moe in this timeline.

Slowing down the pace a bit, this week focuses on Suzuha and Okarin’s reaction towards the changed world. Gotta love Okarin’s “All the moe is gone from Akiba?!” line in the beginning of the episode. Also, Ruka is a girl now :DDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD! God that scene where Okarin molests Ruka to check… he’s lucky Kurisu didn’t throw report him at the nearest police box.

Suzuha’s story is that she’s looking for her father that will be popping up at a specific place… which turns out to be an offline meeting of time travel maniacs that Daru was supposed to attend but got suckered out of it by Okarin. Interestingly, Suzuha’s father also failed to turn up. Is that hinting that she’s actually Daru’s daughter?! FFFFFFFFU–

On Okarin’s side, there was also quite a bit of development between him, Mayushii and Kurisu. Seriously, it feels like with every D-mail successfully sent, Okarin and Kurisu get closer and closer isn’t it? I liked the blackout scene in this episode quite a bit… but oh dear god I don’t want to know how Kurisu makes her apple pies. Not one to lose, Mayushii also revealed an interesting tidbit about Okarin’s childhood where he experienced a high fever that seemed to have given him his “Reading Steiner” ability. Feels like a giant hint there.

Technically speaking, after this last D-Mail where he doesn’t go shopping with Mayushi in order to follow Suzuha, the “Kurisu and Okarin bonding in the dark” event doesn’t necessarily get to happen.

I mean, he might still remember it… but he basically strayed from the Kurisu route in order to give Suzuha a happy ending.

On an unrelated note, I didn’t like how they deprived Okabe of his common sense just for us to see him molesting Ruka. I saw it coming from a mile ago, but this felt kind of forced. No pun intended.

ahahahah! So glad to see it actual imbed itself in the anime too.

Okabe can simply ask Daru what does he know about Barrel Titor. It makes perfect sense to do so as Daru is the only person connected to that group, and if it’s his nickname, then there’s no reason for him to hide it. I wonder if the daughter of Barrel Titor would like to keep the family name in her nickname, thus using John Titor alias herself…

Considering Suzuha attitude, Kirisu is likely to do something leading to some bad consequences, so Okabe and Kirisu getting closer might be the thing to prevent the future dystopia if he manages to influence her at the critical point.

Oh, and that story back from childhood… It appears that he switched the world lines after Mayushi’s made her wish, so she might be spot on thinking that he would die if she didn’t…

As they say, when you hug a girl with a flat chest, you’re closest to her heart.

I honestly have no idea how a fever would give Okarin the Reading Steiner Ability, maybe he was special from the start?

The first thing that struck me at the end of this was the lack of tuturu. That made me sad.
That aside, it’s nice to see the plot slowing down somewhat so Okabe can get a bearing on what’s happening.

Am I the only one wondering why he stopped explaining the changes in the timeline to anyone else?
