Hanasaku Iroha 08

Hanasaku Iroha

Ohana’s delusion grandma is so hilarious. The world would end before Sui actually acts like that.

So anyways, swinging back in to real drama now. First off, an upcoming magazine special on hot spring inn rankings has the management worried, but things really start to get worse when Grandma collapses while the inn suddenly gets like 20 groups coming in.

She’s like a reverse weaboo

Of course, idiot son has to call in Miss Engrish to replace Grandma… which results in a stupid idea of trying to find out who are the undercover reporters and just concentrating their service on them. Never a good idea to oversell oneself there, Miss “Professional”.

Making things worse, Kou-chan is coming over to visit as well… although Ohana doesn’t know about it yet.

Also, seeing Ren-san getting broken was hilarious.

“-nya” indeed wwww

And, Yuina-hime has the most weirdest random accents yet again. If only she could try to put some effort to make it sound not as bad… but I guess that’s the effect Tomatsu’s going for her character I guess. I wonder when’s her turn to take the spotlight.

Speaking of which I am impressed with the level of detail in the episode. I noticed a portrait of younger Sui in one of the scenes, and in the part where Ohana rushes to find Tooru at a wedding banquet, they actually had her peeking in through those side doors to the banquet hall that usually get used as a unofficial storage area/dump. If you’ve had experienced running events, I’m pretty sure it’s common to see those, lol. It’s just impressive for me they decided to put those little details in. Really increases the feeling of immersion.

Since this is a two-parter thing, I’ll leave further comments for later, but so far I can say I’m impressed the show can swing from drama to comedy and back to drama effortlessly. Hopefully, it keeps being that way for the rest of its run.

    Pretty good episode from Ohana’s delusion, the Grandmother’s condition, the large bookings, and all of the humor. Can’t wait to see Ohana’s reaction to see Kou-chan.

    Worst thing to happen is that Tohru and ohana will bump into kou on the way back and create some misunderstandings lol.

    That Miss Engrish is so fucking annoying. I think the dude didn’t call her here because he thinks she’s professional, he just wants to get into her pants.

    @Dude

    I agree to that! Her method does no good. Anyway, it’s gonna get worse next week when Mr. Ren screws up the cooking.

    While this episode is excellent, I can’t wait for a Yuina-centric arc! Then I can go screenshot crazy!

    Okami smiling was unbelievable, even if it was Ohana’s imagination. :)
