Okay, so we got to found out Head’s past via Katashiro. Turns out he got shafted from inheriting the Tau mark and subsequently went and “borrowed” other people’s Marks for his :AMBITION: (idk what he actually still wants and the “he wants to tune himself with the Orichalcon’s powers” thing doesn’t really sound right for him). Anyways, he found himself a willing donor in the form of coma guy Shingo, but got shafted yet again when Shingo fell in to his current state, no doubt due to him being unable to handle Head’s fabulousness.
Oh yeah, confirmed Head for Takuto’s father. So he was Tokio and now he’s Reiji. Hurr. Very symbolic.
Also now that we saw how Tokio basically NTR’ed Sora away from Katashiro, I lost respect points for her. Kinda pity Katashiro as well too.
One thing I’d say this episode could’ve done better was Ginta’s parts. If anything, this episode was more towards the exposition of Katashiro’s character and Head’s past, so Ginta’s meddling in between the flashbacks and talking felt really tacked on. Not to mention he was being such an idiot and a dirty player. Kinda lol’ed when Needle Star ‘helped’ Takuto beat him down.
On the other hand, Tokio-Sora-Katashiro looks to be paralleling Takuto-Wako-Sugata’s relationship a little, although the previous generation’s one ended pretty badly. Interesting though how Katashiro was the one catching Sora and Tokio kissing, while Takuto’s catching Sugata sneak-kissing Wako in the same episode. Don’t know how that’s gonna play out.
Still, Wako’s afternoon nap post is just so cute.
Honestly speaking though, I do hope STAR DRIVER manages to get wrapped up properly. This episode wasn’t really a strong one despite being an important milestone/exposition episode. There about five more episodes to go, so there’s still a lot of time to do things properly. We’ll see. Sakana-chan’s back next week too! (sure hope Monochrome comes back too!)
