The funny thing is I’m all set to have a more exciting and entertaining evening tonight than I did on the other New Years. Unfortunately we’re not going to a Chinese Restaurant.

Actually, in Vietnam, the Calendar states that this year is actually The Year of The Cat. I am not kidding, here is the source validating my claims. So Fruits Basket do have a merit in getting a Year of The Cat.
So as I present to you, Cat Vs Bunny: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U1K0r8b_yUg
Xin Nian Kuai Le, & be prosperous in times ahead.

In our mythology, the cat didn’t take part in the race of Zodiac animals. Or something liddat, who knows.
Ah well, happy CNY nevertheless.

To fill in more on Valence’s point, the cat didn’t take part because the mouse gave him the wrong information regarding the timing, and the cat was late as a result. This is why the cat hates the rat.
Gong Xi Fa Cai to you too, Kurogane-san!

@sharon: Yes, 2011 is pretty much the year of the killer rabbit. In the first month alone, a lot of people have died and there’s so much tragedy coming from Mother Earth.
